Kelly Cafe Roanoke

The Gelato is made on site and is wonderful! The lemon mint was my favorite, the mint didn’t overwhelm the lemon flavor. The pistachio cupcake was not too sweet and you really got the pistachio flavor. The only thing I can say about the macaroons is buy a dozen because one is not enough. I think the drive across town is well worth it!

Kelly Cafe is always awesome. This is our third time going. We've tried a few different flavors of the boba bubble tea. The flavors are consistently delicious and the toppings add a significant amount of variety to an already wide selection. The gelato is excellent, and the flavors are frequently changing. There are also macarons, though I've yet to try them.

So happy to see a high quality, family owned dessert shop! My daughter has been by twice in one day! Such friendly people and a clean, fun atmosphere. The gelato is DELICIOUS!!! We can't wait to come back!

Everything tasted fantastic when I first stopped by. I got 5 or 6 different items for myself and family during my first visit. When I made the next trip a few weeks after, i got two dozens of macaroons and frankly, all of them tasted the same. Every flavor had the blend taste. Also, I was going to order some bubble tea but the person in front of me couldn't even get it cuz they ran out of bubbles. They didn't show any intention of making more bubbles for that day although it was like only 3pm, yeah it takes an hour to make bubbles so i didn't want to sit there and wait anyways. I wish I could still highly recommend this place, but can't anymore. Oh, and their business hours is too short like elderberries, which closes at 6pm. I do want to say I really hope this business stays for a long time though.

I'm from PA, and was visiting my sister in VA. I went to try Kelly Cafe's bubble teas, which were really good. I ordered one with almond milk, because my sister is lactose intolerant, but they were out of almond milk. I ordered her a fruity one instead. I called mid-day the next day to make sure they had almond milk, and they didn't. I went somewhere else to get one.

Super friendly staff, bubble tea tastes great and with a good variety of flavors. Their gelato is amazing and they'll let you sample to make sure you're happy with your purchase

I have a major obsession with Boba Tea & macarons, so this place was like discovering heaven. The whole shop is cute and the setup is really cool. The boba tea was fantastic, the gelato was so creamy and then macarons were crisp and fresh. Very happy to have this place in Roanoke and I hope they stay for good!

Love Kelly's. So fresh and tasty. They are super friendly. Very affordable as well. Go there. You will not regret it.

Stopped by later on a cold evening for dessert, their ice cream / gelato is amazing. We were offered several samples and each was as lovely as the last - whiskey crema, strawberry balsamic, key lime pie!?! WOW this from a gal who is dedicated to her vanilla and doesn't really like fruity ice cream, those were fantastic. The key lime in particular was so smooth and creamy in your mouth and then you got the burst of lime. Just like a good pie! I'm not sure that folks realize 1. that this place is open, it's not overly visible from the street because the strip mall it's in is higher than the street level. Their website still says "coming soon" and 2. that Kelly's Cafe is really a dessert place with ice cream. I feel badly pointing this out but the name says "we offer boring sandwiches" or something... it doesn't say "we offer the most fantastic home made ice cream in town"... so I really hope folks don't pass it by without stopping. There name is really all your can see from the street. This place is really very much like the gelato shops in Italy, so nice to see this type of thing come to Roanoke.

As someone with an allergy, I'm picky at new restaurants. My first impression was that the environment was fresh and everything was open, clean, and neatly put together. Then I noticed that the signs all had "GF" on them which means that bring a Celiac, I could eat most of their gelato! The green mint was awesome an I think we will likely be back to try more flavors.
