The Archives is the official repository for the records of Kennesaw State University.
The Archives is a destination for university and community members to research the history of Kennesaw State University and people and organizations in north and northwest Georgia. Our professional staff provides a range of services, including collection description and organization, reference consultations, reproduction requests, record transfers and donations, and training opportunities, as well as guidance on the preservation and maintenance of paper, audio-visual, and digital materials.
Collecting Areas
The Archives collects the records of Kennesaw State University administrative units, individuals, and student groups that describe the day-to-day activities of the school. In addition, the KSU Archives seeks to document the work of individuals and organizations in the north and northwest regions of Georgia. Of particular interest are those communities that have been historically underrepresented or that are part of changing demographics in the area.
The purpose of the KSU Archives Facebook page is to provide awareness for the university and community members about the history of Kennesaw State University, as well as other organizations in north and northwest Georgia. The KSU Archives encourages discussion on this page, and should act as a safe space for engagement about the archives. The KSU Archives reserves the right to remove any content that is deemed inappropriate or offensive.
The mission of the Kennesaw State University Archives is to identify, collect, and make accessible records of enduring value to preserve institutional and community memory into the future. These efforts further the mission of the university by contributing to research activities, scholarly development, and public service initiatives that enhance the quality of life in our local communities and the wider world.
