Initially, this seemed to be a great school for my toddler. In late May 2017, my toddler acted very upset after school, holding herself and hiding her face. This was very unusual. I saw 2 crescent marks on her forearm, which appeared to be adult nail marks dug into her skin. She stated that her teacher had done it. Because she's 2.5, I can't say for certain that her teacher grabbed her hard enough to leave clear marks on her arm for the entire night, but bringing it to the attention of the Director, I didn't receive any explanation or apology. Even if the teacher did not hurt my child, something did and the Director did not provide me with an incident/accident report, neither of the 2 teachers seemed to know how she was hurt, and the office workers that reviewed the cameras could not find how/when she was injured. This seemed to be a major safety issue but the Director did not give me any reassurance that Kensington was a safe school. This incident, and a previous one in early 2017, gave me reason to pull my daughter from the school. The incident in early 2017 was when she came home very upset: refusing to speak until she was coaxed into saying that the teacher the assistant director had yelled at her. Then she cried. When I brought this to the attention of the Director, she stated that my 2 year old must've done something that deserved it. After more investigation, it turned out that the assistant director had yelled at 2 boys in front of my toddler, which is what had upset her. I don't pay someone to yell at or in front of my daughter unless she is on fire or similar emergency. How the assistant director handled the boys and the lack of support from the Director showed me that they are unprofessional at best.
