Kent is originally from Horry County. After graduating from law school, Kent clerked under the Honorable Sidney T. Floyd before working as a child support enforcement attorney. After two years as a prosecutor in Orangeburg County Kent relocated to Lexington and worked as an Assistant Solicitor for Donnie Myers. While working for Myers, he served as prosecutor for the Lexington County Multi -Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team for 3 years.
During his years as a prosecutor Kent handled thousands of cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to serious felonies. Kent now serves the Lexington, South Carolina, community as an attorney committed to helping those in need of a solid criminal defense as well as those who have suffered injuries and are due compensation for their suffering.
Additionally, in 2013 Kent was elected to Lexington County Council to serve as the Councilman for the district three. He did that in addition to practicing law until 2016.
