The Kent Food Bank and Emergency Services exists to serve the citizens of the Greater Kent area.
In order to fultill its mission the Kent Food Bank will:
Operate a center to supply food, clothing and referrals to persons in need living within the service area.
Furnish financial assistance in an emergency situatin for emergency needs.
Work in conjunction with government agencies, churches and other organizations to serve the surround people.
Operate primarily as a volunteer agency, obtaining the majority of its support and donations from the community.
The Kent Food Bank is one of the larger food banks in South King County. Clients may visit monthly for food, clothes and government commodities and some come weekly for perishable items. Homeless individuals/families may visit weekly for special quick or "no cook" food items. The Kent Food Bank provides limited financial assistance for help with basic needs, such as housing/shelter, utility bills or medicine. Assistance is also given to link individuals with the needed resources in the community.
Our services are provided in a manner that builds on individual's strengths and encourages self-sufficiency.
