Protecting 8,000 square miles out of 47 fire stations, we are the Kern County Firefighters, Local 1301. Dedicated to serving the County of Kern.
The members of Local 1301 are proudly sworn to protect all cities, municipalities and state areas within the County of Kern. We are members of the California Professional Firefighters (CPF) and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF).
The CPF represents firefighters across the state when it comes to legislative matters. They fight for our safety, training and equipment needs. This has never been more prevalent than our recent track record of wildfires in California.
The IAFF represents firefighters from across the United States and Canada. Similarly, its role is to advocate for firefighters on legislative matters in both countries. The IAFF is widely recognized for its bi-partisan agenda. It is truly about protecting those that protect you.
Locally, our firefighters are involved in the community, participating in fundraisers across the county. Our primary charities are the Muscular Dystrophy Association, American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
