Matt is a 2011 graduate of West Virginia University College of Law. Upon graduation, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Irene C. Berger, Judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and the Honorable Michael John Aloi, Judge for West Virginia’s Sixteenth Judicial Circuit. In August of 2013, Matt cofounded Kettering Delligatti Law Offices in Fairmont with longtime friend and classmate, Paul A. Kettering.
Matt is a 2008 graduate of West Virginia University with a B.A. in political science, where he received the Order of Augusta, an award of academic excellence granted to the top eight graduating seniors. In 2007, he became West Virginia University's 18th recipient of the prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship. The Truman Foundation gives out these awards annually to a select few American students who are dedicated to public service. At the age of 22, Matt became the youngest mayor in Fairmont’s history. At the age of 20, he was elected to 9th district city council seat.
Matt is a 2004 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. At Fairmont Senior, he won the 2004 West Virginia AAA high school state wrestling tournament in the 189 pound weight class. He now is a member of the executive board of the Fairmont Senior High School Foundation.
Paul is a 2011 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. During law school, he clerked for Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer, PLLC in Morgantown, West Virginia. Upon graduation, Paul was hired as an associate attorney at Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer, where he handled a wide variety of civil matters.
Prior to law school, Paul studied at Duke University and West Virginia University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the WVU Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism and a minor in Political Science, Law and Legal Studies. During his time as an undergraduate student, he worked for 91.7 WWVU Radio, and volunteered as a football coach at Fairmont Senior High School. He continues to coach wide receivers at Fairmont Senior.
Paul recently moved back to Fairmont, and lives with his fiancé Brigitte Sapp, and their chocolate lab, Flanker.
