Kettering Middle

I will be honest, I gave up on this school. Why does it have 2 stars? It needs 0 stars, This is not a good school at all. We do not get out full education here, To be honest i still have grade school thinking. We are taught by substitute teaches most of the time. Where is out teachers? We get word puzzles in class.... How is that going to help me learn? We had 3 principles in a year! whats up with that kettering. If i was able to leave this school when i want to i would of BEEN left! As a student here i dont think that we should be treated like animals. The teachers are disrespectful the students. I be sitting at my desk doing my work and guess what, The teacher starts yelling at me. smh....I hate this school. there was a dead mouse in the dance room and a roach in the hallway shaking my head again....

The school it self has really changed throughout the year. I have seen really nice people there but there are somethings wrong with the school. 1. Change how kids should learn, make up some fun lessons it might be hard but trying something new will help boost scores on test. 2. Make a ranking system for each class. How this would work is you would build or use a system where teachers will enter there grades and see who is doing well in that class or not. You can even monitor some classes from time to time to see what methods work. That’s how you should pay your teachers. 3. This things not to do in a class and that’s having “favorites” meaning that you treat some people horribly but then treat the rest like angles even though they might have failed a test. Stuff like this causes kids to have bad grades get more detentions and etc. you can spot this easily by looking at both sides of a story and talk to kids that saw what happen. Teachers like this should get paid less, fired, or resign. Luckily this doesn’t happen to oftenand should be a quick fix. Ya and so these are ways to fix the schools flaws it might not be all but that’s how I would change the system. The staff is realy good at there job in my opinion. this school is not a safe Learning environment. You guys got people smoking weed all up in the school, lunch ladies giving people attitudes, half the time the teachers aren't even there so we end up with substitutes that don't even know what the lesson is or what we supposed to be doing. Y'all play unclean music at school events. Y'all got teachers that can't even get there classroom under control and some teachers curse in front of us. Y'all are ok with the students cursing. The police always showing up to the school cause of the students behavior. Y'all got the 8th grade team leader who is more strict and does better than the principal. This school is the worst

DO NOT send your child to this school it is the worst middle school in PGCPS this school needs to be closed and never opened again. Do not put your child through the experience of being a Kettering Middle School student it is a horrible one. All it takes is one visit and you will see what I'm saying is the truth.

Students are taught by substitute teachers majority of the school year so basically the students are way behind in their education. Just left a PTA meeting with the principal and parents and the questions and concerns, Parents answers STILL wasn't answered matter fact the head PTA member was very rude and cut and the parents off. Students are being graded but all they do is sit in class most of the school year watching movies because most of her classes have substitute teachers. 90% of the teachers are suspended for hitting the students, this is the reason for the high number of substitutes and why the students' education is jeopardized.

I'm a student at this school and let me tell you that school is so disgusting. The principal treat us like we're in jail, the teachers over work is with pointless essays especially the science teachers, the gym teachers are a bunch of A-holes, they have substitute teachers teaching us a whole school year a don't know a darn thing, they even have subs who just sit around and give us work, the teachers curse at us, one time my friend told me that our science teacher called a student an ugly B and the student was furious, the staff constantly send the students to in-school-suspension, and me as a student yea I talk and play around with my friends because us kids are always bored! We never do anything fun except Spirit week which is all the way at the end of the school year, and I really don't understand why us students have to take so many tests near the last week of school, some teachers even drop the students grades sometimes because they don't like you! There are so many policies for this school it's ridiculous. That principal and a couple of staff needs to be fired ASAP!!

Wish I could give this 0 stars. This school is dirt and not only is it dirt but it is dirty. it has mice and mold. I do not suggest for you to bring your child here. Move. Move while you still can because once you bring your child into a pgcps then they'll be gone forever. They won't be your sweet little baby anymore. So, move. This is you're only warning. I beg of you.

I am a parent of a child whose tenure there was grade 6 through 7. Honestly, the ONLY reason my child is still here is because I cannot afford private school. The PRINCIPAL if you can call him that treats the students like criminals---always yelling, implementing in-school-suspension, and treats the staff equally as bad. You would think it is his own personal playground. The beginning of the year, her History teacher didn’t input grades for 3 months my husband and I brought this to the attention of the principal, then the Tech Concepts teacher retired, and there is a long term sub who does NOTHING with the kids been there since January its now May, her Reading teacher is out on sick leave not to return because of some debacle with the buffoon who has the title of PRINCIPAL!!. Her Reading class the honors class is covered by a Social Studies teacher who “claims” to be certified as a Reading Language Arts teacher, though when I asked about her certification to teach English, she and the Vice Principal BOTH said that is a personal question. Are you freaking kidding me, you work in a public school, and a parent can’t ask about your credentials??!!??!! Because they both answered my inquiry so abruptly, I have been sending mails to the PG County School Board about a teacher’s certification and have gotten the run around for the past 2 weeks. Instructional Director for Kettering is a JOKE, and told me and my husband just enough to get us off her back; her emails give direction to other school board entities that when called say it is not their area. Why not ask the principal…glad you asked, because in our meetings with him we caught him in lies, and our child has told us that he targets the children of parents to cause him any issues. Because our child told us about how the Principal asked Security with his 300lb self to “slam” a child against the lockers---this was NOT an option. We told her about this and NOTHING has been done. WE ABHOR this school, and ANXIOUSLY the end of this school year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is stressful enough to have a child in Middle School, let alone a school where the best things are the 2 counselors, and a VPrincipal, and a Reading teacher who no longer teachers there because of foolery!!!!!!!!

as a old student that went to Kms i can 100% say that the kids there are NOT the problem it's the damn teachers and princple. The principle is a over sized baked potato that so rude and disrespectful . Dont ever go to him about anything because u might get suspend for that . Also the science teachers gives us more essays than our reading teachers Like what's the point of having reading class if the science teacher is teaching us . The subs are DUMB ASF and they will be there for the whole school year and not teach us anything . The ladies in the front desk is rude asf I can't even pick up my lunch with out them saying something . ALSO THE WAS RATS ! There was so many that some of the teacher started names them . The ONLY good thing about the school is Mr. Cooper and Ms.O Neal

This school is dumb did someone say in 2017-2018 year we had 3 principles. Also all we do is cross word puzzles . Then at lunch you get in trouble for talking. The staff members is rude an disrespectful but want me as a student at kms to be respect at all times DONT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE PLEASE THEY WILL GET BULLIED
