Martial Arts Black Lotus Academy (known as Kia Kidz) is dedicated to teaching several programs:

Martial Arts Center for Students with Special Needs, Inc. is a program located in Miami Dade. The Center was created to introduce the concept of martial arts to children and adults with physical and other differences. We help students with Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Aspergers Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and non verbal disabilities get included in the sport of Martial Arts. The Center is a part of the Black Lotus Academy of Martial Arts, teaching the style of American Ju-Jitsu, that was developed by Taishi Vernon Jones Jr. BLAM has been helping families and our community since 1978. Martial Arts Center for Students with Special Kids has created a Kia Kidz program for small children with various special needs as parents were struggling to get their children accepted by sports programs in Miami Dade.
Our mission is to increase the focus, flexibility, coordination, motor movement, and balance in students from ages 3 and up. Our qualified and caring instructors help students to achieve increased self-confidence and a great sense of accomplishment when achieving the goals which they set for themselves. We constantly improve our service to the students through continual education and training for our professional team. We have 5 young volunteers that are assisting the instructors with the classes and play an important role as the “role models” in the classes. The structured physical program, that we developed, has a positive influence in developing concentration, self-confidence and group participation in our students.
