Wonder Gardens gives great discounts for military and first responders. Even with a lot of shade it was so incredibly hot that it was impossible to stand for too long at any one spot. Lots of parrots, birds, alligators to see but not the most interesting for our family. An otter exhibit is being built which will be a great attraction. An adorable parrot did speak to us by exclaiming hello! Our family was delighted. The AC in the gift shop was so appreciated and overall it was a nice pit stop but for us we wouldn't make a return visit.
Wonder Gardens is a small sanctuary with many interesting plants and birds in cages. Iguanas come and go like they own the place. Kids enjoyed the big lizards and squawking parrots. Clean and well maintained. Plan to spend about 45 minutes here. There are certain days that you can pay extra to feed the animals. I would’ve done that but we were out of days. Good for people that like to look at plants but not really worth the ticket price because you can see the same plants Florida for free. There were some little ceramic bowls on display with price tags. We were looking at them because I really wanted to buy one. The staff said they were not for sale because there are no prices yet even though every piece had a price sticker! Staff at the entrance/gift shop/exit was extremely rude. The first and last people you see leave a bad taste in your mouth. The place is ok if you need to kill some time but would not recommend due to rude service. Their sign outside says WELCOME. Staff was not welcoming.
This zoo is small and charming, easily can be walked through in about an hour. The lobby/gift shop is currently under construction to add in new habitat. We enjoyed the different bird and turtle species and flowers/plants. The Banyan trees on the property are amazing to see. We did not do an animal experience but they are available for additional $$
We were slightly disappointed. Only 2 flamingos last time there were dozens of them. In all fairness, Hurricane Ian took a toll on them. The buildings and grounds are showing their age and sadly looking very run down.
Nice quick zoo to walk through, especially in the summer heat with little kids. It is just big enough. Probably can go through it quickly within 30 mins. Costs are around $10-$14 per person.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
We loved our Wonder Gardens visit with the added animal encounters option! Two years in a row this gem has not disappointed us. Wear closed-toed shoes, and plan for a few hours after the encounters to enjoy the natural habitats and animals!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30
What a lovely little place! Beautiful! Animals look happy and healthy. Great for toddlers as it is not as big of an outing as the zoo.
My 12-year-old loved this place, and we got free tickets through our NARM reciprocal museum membership — those are the two reasons I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 1. There's not much info about the animals, there aren't many animals to see, and the staff acted like they did not want to be there. When we checked in at the entrance, a young woman told us to be sure to check out a bird named Kaley that did "tricks." We couldn't find any bird named Kaley or any bird that did tricks, so I thought maybe I heard her wrong. So I later went back to the entrance to clarify. Two different girls were now there, and one said, "I don't know what you're talking about." When I tried explaining what the first woman had told us, she interrupted me and rudely snapped, "I don't know anything about a bird!" The other staff ignored us. If you can get free or discount tickets, this place might be worth a quick stop and I do mean quick...the entire place will take 45 minutes to explore. Otherwise, maybe skip it.
Beautiful Garden with animals all around! The animals are each in their own enclosures but you can easily see them up close! They had a wheelchair that I used to push my Mom in and it was quite accessible. The kids had a great time! Plenty to see and learn about. I was here 3 years ago and I do miss their museum maybe hurricane Ian made it not available anymore? Please bring back the museum : A great small place to visit!
This little zoo was pretty neat! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was really beautiful and the animals were easy to see! There were no otters because that part was under construction but the enclosure they were building for them looked fun and was large. Lots of neat plants as well!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
