The crossing from the United States to Mexico is fast but from Mexico to the United States one can take up to 7 hours. On the Nogales México side, you start with a lane to cross and the line is kilometers long, passing the bridge there are 3 lanes but only 2 entrances are open.
There cannot be more inept and unprofessional officers. The officer on duty was having breakfast and obviously very upset that we arrived early to request an FFM. He refused to authorize the forms because passports expire in 6 and a half months. Taking into account that our permit is for only 7 days. It's a ridiculous and bureaucratic policy that few officers waste their time enforcing. Of course I refused to offer him a single dollar bribe and left without permits. Mexico needs tourism and people like this contribute to that negative and corrupt image that authorities have in Mexico.
The staff at this checkpoint are 99% inept. I don't want to be rude but I dare say that they are good at scrubbing whoever comes their way. They are rude and abuse their public office to denigrate those who cross into Mexico with cargo. Even if the traffic light touches green, they stop you. And they make you a maze with barriers and vans just to make it difficult for people to pass.
