Our family and extended family has been coming here for 7 summers and the quality of this campsite has gone way down hill, especially this summer 2023since the city isnt running it. There are a majority of kids working here which are giving very poor customer service to guests. i had to ask twice in a one week stay for toilet paper to be restocked in the bathrooms and it took 3 times of asking each time to finally see it being done. cleanliness of bathrooms are below acceptable. must just go in there and mop floors, as there's dirt marks and hair all over stalls. water pressure for showers are hit and miss, with it not staying any specific temp. One of the biggest let-downs are that campers are subject to pay, IN FULL, a year in advance for bookings, with huge price increases on sites. They will not waver on that rule, and punish campers who haven't changed/modified/canceled any of the years they have been staying here. that simply isn't feasible for most who are trying to book sites they enjoy. That is a new implemented rule as of this season which will make it tough to find a site here suitable to your needs. Employees are unable to answer questions we have regarding sup/kayak/e-bike rentals or even about local sightseeing attractions etc. and they don't seem to care if they rent out sub par equipment we were told there's a patch kit in the paddle board bags if there's a hole in it when we get to our destination to use them. Unfortunately this establishment will not see us returning, which is unfortunate given the city of Kimberley and area have been such an enjoyable retreat for many years for us.
Campground is in a great spot. The river view sites have a great view and are close to some hiking trails. There bathrooms/ showers were always kept very clean and the showers are free. The kids loved the pool. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's getting on the expensive side for a campsite.Rooms: 5/5
Terrific campground. We loved everything about this place. Tons of great stuff to do. Awesome MB and hiking trails, golf courses etc. Kimberly is a great little town. Nice clean sites and washrooms. Clean pool too. Pricey but worth it. Our favorite site on our 2 week, 6 campsite trip.Hotel highlightsGreat view, Romantic, Quiet, Kid-friendly
We love this campground. We keep coming back multiple times a year. Mountain biking, good showers, good little store. The mini golf is fun and the pool is nice.Rooms: 5/5
We booked this trip very last min, and honestly, we were happy with our site. The site was close to the river.. honestly, we loved the paths by the river... sad to see people leaving garbage and dog poop bags everywhere as there is no garbage cans nowhere by the river. I think management really needs to add some garbage cans in the path area. The playground is okay.. needs updating and needs more items. Beach Volleyball was nice. The pool was nice, a lot of seating area. The pool is free. Included with the camping fee. Too bad they don't have a hot tub. I was surprised when they said the pool is only for adult 10am to 11 am. By the pool area, they have a ping pong table. Wish they had some kind of sun umbrella or awning over the table as it was very hot to play in the sun. I thought they had a chest game, but we didn't see it. Mini golf is amazing. Very hard. My family loved it. We went daily. It was $27 for a family of 4. It gets pricey when your child wants to play daily sometimes twice a day. The store has a good selection of snacks. You can also rent a propane fire pit. I did a load of laundry, and it was a decent price. WI-FI didn't seem to work a lot of times. Next time we will rent a router. I was very surprised how the campground is so quiet. Very beautiful. One night, there was a site that was listening to the music a little loud, but we were further away that I didn't bother with calling and complaining. One complaint that I have is that 11am checkout is way too early. As a family of 4. 2 kids' daughter with ds, who is 14, and son who is 17. We loved it there, and we are booked to come back again next year. We went to Kimberley for the afternoon on Saturday and really liked it.. lots of places to eat shop and do crafts. I wanted to say something to people who gave the campsite 1 out 5 because of the cancelation policy and smoke issue. I have a child with a DS and asthma issue. We showed on Aug 3rd, and there was zero smoke. Aug 4th, there was smoke, but it was a lot worse by the pool area. We were spending most of the day by the river, and in the afternoon, it cleared out. They received some rain, and that helped out. I was so worried about the smoke, but we took a chance and glad we did.
Great place to stay. Just far enough out of town to be private. It was clean, well run and super friendly staff. Seamless checkin if you have a reservation, just go to your site and away you go. Lots of fun activities as a well.Rooms: 4/5
What an incredible piece of heaven. We had a wonderful five-day stay at the Kimberly Riverside Campground, I highly recommend this beautiful place. It should be noted though, that the entire campground is on the side of a mountain, so even if you pick a spot that looks close to the river on the site map, there is substantial grading between you and the river. This was only an issue for me because I am in a wheelchair. If mobility is at all an issue for you, you absolutely should choose a site as close to the pool and office area as possible, because you won't really get much out of the rest of the grounds as the river is fairly inaccessible to wheelchairs just drive up and down! Otherwise, we have zero complaints! My kids absolutely loved the pool, and the showers were fantastic with soft water which we really miss here in Calgary now that we are home I used the laundry facilities as well which was nice. Wi-Fi is available all around the campground and we were able to stream shows and movies just fine. The river is beautiful, and they have so many amenities here. You can get bocce balls and volleyballs from the office to use down in their grassy area by the river and has a Beach volley ball court. The river has sand right next to it but the sand is not too deep and not really suited for playing, but it's soft, and they have created a rock bordered area at the edge of the river for kids to play in the water safely. The river does have quite a strong current further out, so caution should be taken with kids. There's a playground for the kids, there's mini golf that is actually wheelchair accessible, and there's even a ramped entry for the pool! I am able to stand on one leg and transfer from my power wheelchair, so I didn't need everything to be completely wheelchair accessible. I definitely would have struggled if I had brought my manual wheelchair though, with all those hills. My kids loved biking around the property, there's so many trails and little areas for them to play on near the campsites. And there are little BMX style "jumps" at the end of some of the rows of sites that they enjoyed. Our dog loved all the incredibly long and intricate trails that she was able to go adventuring on with us, and one of the trails "rotary centennial trail" was actually quite accessible for my power wheelchair. We had to leave early because of my health issues, but I hope we can come back someday!
Nice campground, little to no enforcement of rules. We had avoided this campground for quite a few years because of a couple of unpleasant visits due to unche cked noise. However upon reading the new rules noise, overcrowding of sites we were encouraged that perhaps someone finally gets it. Nope, the policy sounds great but it's a joke. A walk around Pine Meadows shows multiple sites with 8, 10, 12 or more people, numerous competing music concerts. Barking dog left unattended in trailer ALL day. Mentioned it twice, no results, no improvement. If we have to agree to the rules of common courtesy, then you need to step up and ENFORCE your own rules. One young employee spends his time sitting in the campground truck playing on his phone.
88$ per night for a serviced site that we didn’t need. And we thought a the mini putt would be included but had to pay for that. Showers are just Soso. Campground itself is in good shape. But over priced. We joined friends that had booked a year earlier or paid $42 per night. So more than 100% increase.
Decent campground, would be nice if there was more bathrooms. The pool is great but needs to be cleaned every morning as it got pretty gross there, also one of the toilets got backed up and it was like that for most of the day, and with only three for the whole place that sucks.
