Kimberly Bray is the elected Alderman to the City Council in Bloomington, Illinois' Ward 9.
Kimberly Bray has lived at her home in Ward 9 for 15 years. She is a 31-year employee of State Farm and is currently in-house counsel corporate law.
Bray holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Loyola University and a Juris Doctorate degree from University of Baltimore School of Law. She belongs to the Maryland and Illinois State Bar Associations as well as the McLean County Bar.
Earlier in her career, Bray managed offices and operations in Fire Claims and catastrophe services. Those experiences gave her a deeper understanding of the importance of a strong first-responder system and of maintaining good fire service in the community. She also gained significant experience in addressing the needs of policyholders in adverse circumstances.
She volunteers with the Immigration Project, Illinois Special Olympics, the Illinois State Bar Association, Midwest Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity. Bray has also held leadership and volunteer roles with St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Bloomington.
Bray appreciates the vitality and diversity in the community and is committed to building on its strengths and improving the economic base. She and her husband, Harry, are the parents of three grown children, Regina, James and Abigail.
