King's Hawaiian Bakery and Restaurant

Description

King’s Hawaiian Bakery & Restaurant opened its doors on Sepulveda Boulevard in Torrance in 1988 and quickly became a landmark for Hawaiians living on the mainland. The irresistible Hawaiian food coupled with the warm “Aloha Spirit” that is the trademark of this family-owned business has made King’s Hawaiian Restaurant a gathering place for families and friends throughout Southern California.

King’s Hawaiian Restaurant offers a variety of Hawaiian and Classic American dishes, as well as attractive new foods that are our connection to the new Hawaii. In addition, our retail bakery is one of the highest volume bakeries in the state and opens everyday at 6am.

King’s Hawaiian continues to serve satisfied customers in two locations: the original King’s Hawaiian on Sepulveda Blvd., as well as a faster, casual Bakery & Cafe on Western Avenue called The Local Place.

King’s Hawaiian is a great option for those who crave authentic Hawaiian style food. Best of these dishes is the oxtail noodle soup. Kids love the breakfast here and spam musubi. It’s been a while since we’ve had stuff from their bakery but I remember it being pretty good, though there is often a line to place your order. Service here is very friendly and there is plenty of parking in the back. It can be crowded so try to get a reservation online or be prepared to wait for a bit. We love coming here as there aren’t many places like this. And yes, the bread rolls are awesome too!
First time going to Kings Hawaiian for my birthday. The atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. Our waitress Sophia was very warm welcoming and detailed about the menu regarding our selections. She was very prompt and courteous when bringing our table items that we asked for. They serve warm free Hawaiian Rolls omg and they are endless. Sophia had some of the staff accompany her to bring me a slice of cake and to sing happy birthday to me. It was a memorable experience. Food was great family atmosphere and prices were very reasonable and portions were very large. Based on the experience that I had I give this location a 10/10. We will be back and if you go ask for Sophia you won't be disappointed.
If you're looking for a hot spot with delicious Hawaiian cuisine in Torrance, you'll love this place! One of the highlights is that they offer complimentary Hawaiian bread as a starter, setting the tone for a delightful dining experience. Don't miss out on their scrumptious desserts, particularly their famous cake. The staff members are consistently friendly and provide excellent recommendations. The portions are generous, and the food is always fresh and flavorful. -1 star for dirty bathroom. The cleanliness is lacking, as there have unpleasant odors that suggest inadequate cleaning. Quick tips: There are ample parking spaces available at the back of the establishment. Make sure to save room for desserts, as their bakery items are exceptionally tasty, with the Paradise Cake being a standout choice.
Worth the wait. If you are looking for comfort good, this is the place. Everything was good. Come right at 10:45 and wait until 11 to order lunch. It gets packed after 11 on the weekends. Order everything with Hawaiian sausage. Their bakery is amazing. Ube donuts!Food: 5/5
Was on an early morning walk in Torrance and came across this beauty. So I definitely had to try the food as I frequent King’s Hawaiian many times in my life. The breakfast was good, I had the Kings Hawaiian special dish, French toast made from their bread and it was fantastic. I also got some cookies and they were good as well.Food: 5/5
We had the oxtail and the short ribs. The oxtail was insanely tender and the Short ribs were grilled to perfection! This was my first time experiencing Kimchi with short ribs and I'm not sure I can have it any other way! Service by Julie was a treat! Oh, and pineapple cheesecake for desert hit the spot I never knew existed!Food: 5/5
Warm, family restaurant that offers delicious Hawaiian favorite food. We especially enjoyed the oxtail soup with freshly made saimin noodles. The bakery had a nice variety of cakes, pies, Mochi donuts, and other baked goods.Food: 5/5
Parking lot has plenty of spaces! Their food is always so good! Lots of options to choose from. Something for everyone. I highly recommend all their desserts mochi donuts, cakes, cinnamon cakes, etc etc!! The pulled pork is good too. And of course their bread!! There is a fish tank as well and it can help entertain kids.
Oxtail soup is a favorite. Large portion served with side of rice and potatoe/Mac salad. The soup is one of the better tasting that I have ever had and I have had many all over. Service was good. Aloha vibes all around.Food: 5/5
Took the whole family out for breakfast! It was 5 of us. It wasn’t a long wait but I will say the restaurant was super busy. Our waiter was really good and attentive. The food came out fast and looked delicious. We will be back to try lunch and dinner. The Hawaiian French Toast was . Those macadamia nut fried onion rings is a must try. They ran out of ranch but besides that it was a solid family outing. Oh yeah can not forget the pineapple oatmeal raisin cookies!!!
