Established as a full service travel agency in 1977 by principals Jean J. King and Roger W. King. The initial objectives were to serve the traveling public in the areas of Corporate, Leisure, and Group Travel.
The company has grown from its humble beginnings in a store-front location to a much revered entity in a new/old building in downtown Meriden CT with the purchase and renovation of the old Butler Street Firehouse. Here the business operated until January 2015 - when Jean King moved to her Cheshire location and operation became 'Home Based'.
Jean continues to assist her long-time clients with their travel plans, as well as designing and operating group tours. Highly successful is the Africa Safari program.
We have passed from the 20th into the 21st century. With this the business balance has evolved and changed from the traditional travel agency to a larger proportion of specially designed and operated group tours, individual vacation and leisure bookings, as well as FIT or foreign individual tours. We have filled the void left by the downward spiral of the airline ticketing division. The solidity of internet self-booking procedures has spawned a wave of do-it-yourselfers, (sometimes with great personal success, and many times resulting in disaster for the passenger). We have countered this with an attractive agenda of shorter group tours to those destinations that you have always wanted to visit but for those who want a short, economical little get-away. Our tours allow the comfort of knowing you are with an experienced guide but with plenty of free time to explore as you wish! The solid background of global travel and knowledge of how the world ‘works’ gives our current professional staff of travel counselors a real edge in their ability to seek out interesting destinations worldwide and put together stunning itineraries for both the group and individual. We work closely with universities, church and club groups, family celebratory events, and continue with our selected corporate accounts of business travelers.
