An excellent venue that offers world-famous shows such as Phantom of the Opera and many more. The seats are comfortable and able to fit a massive crowd. The only improvements that could be made could be to the lobby size, as when the show finishes, there is a massive influx of guests trying to leave. The crowded atmosphere is not desirable and is extremely easy to get lost. Overall, the venue is adequate for the watching of musicals and is situated in a prime location. Would come back again.
On February 28, 2023, I was excited to see The Phantom of the Opera a fourth time before it closes on April 16, 2023. The overall experience was great; although in my opinion, Michael Crawford and Sarah Brighman were the best Phantom and Christine; but I wasn't disappointed with Ben Crawford and Emilie Kouatchou's performance. Great musical!
The Majestic Theatre has been home to The Phantom of the Opera for more than 35 years. It'll be strange to live without it for now. But this theatre is gorgeous.
It was an absolute honor to see Phantom before the final curtain in a few weeks. The cast are immensely talented, the set design and costume outstanding and the music perfection. It’s been my favourite since I was a little girl and I was blown away by the entire production. An all round perfect night out.
Very blessed to have the opportunity to see Phantom one last time. It had been 20 years since the first performance I saw, and it was equally wonderful. Theater looked and felt the same, and aging as others had mentioned.
It breaks my heart knowing Phantom of the Opera is leaving after a 35 year run at the Majestic. I've seen the show a handful of times but this is tlmy second time visiting the majestic. It does not disappoint. Seats were as comfortable as they can be for a theatre. Snack and drink service at our seats was great. Cash or card and our waitress was super friendly. We had multiple staff members and ushers offer help to direct us to our seats. I've been to other shows and the ushers can be very rude . They had boosters for kids as well. The Majestic Theatre is magical.
This review is about the venue, the Majestic Theatre, and not the play Phantom of the Opera. The theater was dated and needed lots of updates. The moving parts of the stage were amazing, and at some events during the play made me scream or wonder “how did they do that?” with the special effects. I was impressed with the logistics during the play.
Loved the theatre atmosphere, beautiful! Sat in the center orchestra level..but any seat would have been great.
Truly an incredible experience seeing The Phantom of the Opera in this beautiful theater! It was a once in a lifetime experience for my daughter and me!
Majestic theatre is an old regal one. You can feel the history in the walls, drapery, colors. The entry and exit was managed well and people there were very attentive. We went to see the long running Phantom of Opera show musical here. Its one of most vibrant plays. The sets are wonderful and too many moving pieces - all played to perfection. The music is soothing and the actors are well rehearsed. The night mist and snow scenes just wowed everyone. I got the back seats first time I went. I plan to go again and get the orchestra seats right under the chandelier - which starts from low height and goes up in front of you. A spell bounding sight. This of the top 5 plays on broadway right now. And Majestic theatre is the place!
