An independent private school reaching students where they are and helping them achieve all they can.
Kishami means powerful person and Kishami Academy is an independent school driven to empower autistic children, learning challenged children, and their families.
First, by focusing on the whole child: their culture, and their needs.
Subjects are not taught in a segregated pattern, as is common in public schools, but rather integrated through a common topic, as is more common in home-school unit studies.
The cultures of the student are focused on and supported: their autistic culture, their parents’ cultures, and the American culture they are living in.
The small-group style is for focused growth, either bringing the student up to grade level or encouraging growth at the students pace.
Second, the school is cultivating a program to build bridges between the hemispheric partitions of the brain to facilitate adaptations to the wider world outside the internal culture of the student; this program is called Brain Bridges and is based on intercultural communication concepts, physical activities, and educational ideas garnered from continuous research from around the world.
Come visit us during Friday Office hours to ask any questions you may have.
Our Mission is to see all students succeed by addressing their needs individually: empowering students by filling in missing knowledge and letting students learn at their own pace.
