About Our Club:
The Kitchener Lawn Bowling Club is located in a peaceful, park-like corner in the heart of the city. While the club has a long tradition - operating since 1902 - our facilities are modern and well maintained. The greens are off Wentworth Avenue near the intersection of Highland Road East and Spadina Road.
The clubhouse is spacious, and air conditioned for comfort.
Large picture windows overlook the beautiful 10-rink green which is surrounded by flower beds, benches, picnic tables and shade shelters.
The green is regularly cut and manicured to provide a high-quality bowling experience. Floodlights illuminate the green for memorable evening games past dusk.
Trophies, photographs and memorabilia in the well-appointed clubhouse purvey the club's rich history. Bulletin boards keep everyone updated on news and exciting special events. The club is maintained and operated through the volunteer efforts of members.
The greatest feature of the club is its friendly members who create a fun atmosphere for new bowlers and those looking to refine their skills
Our Mission:
To provide an affordable, high quality lawn bowling experience for residents of the Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario area including youth and seniors and to spread the good word about the healthful physical and social benefits of this outdoor sport that is easy to learn but challenging to master.
To attract youth to the globally competitive sport of lawn bowling, provide them with the opportunity to refine their skills at a high quality lawn bowling facility under the volunteer leadership of senior club members, and to provide special activities such as youth tournaments that are open to youth from all Ontario lawn bowling clubs.
To offer a friendly, accessible atmosphere in which all generations can participate together and equitably. Social and inter-generational interaction and sportsmanship between club members and their guests is a primary goal of the club.
To operate the club's programs including games and tournaments, scheduled greens and facility maintenance through annual membership fees and in-club fund-raising activities and independent of public funding.
