Our first visit…. I had the chicken fried steak sandwich, I thought it was real good. My wife had the salmon salad. There was very little salmon, sliced thin, and served cold, a bit pricey for what it was at $18.95. Drinks were expensive, $6.75 for a beer and $7.95 for a Bloody Mary. The atmosphere was very nice, a lot to see, and a nice fire in the fireplace. I’m glad we went early as they started to fill up late. It’s not a huge place, I could see it getting full pretty quickly. Our service was exceptional and the speed of the food coming out was very fast. Over all, it’s worth a try, I’d go back again.
This restaurant is one of the best kept secrets of the Mon -Valley. Admittedly, the current construction on the Speers exit off I70 makes it a challenge to find the place but it is well worth the trip. The interior of the building reminds me of a hunting lodge with all the taxidermy including two large bears. Outside features a great patio area with a water fall and bar. You also have the ax throwing building with quite a few targets available. The staff was friendly and attentive. Along with the regular menu, they offered summer specials which included a Philly Cheese Steak Quesadilla which I ordered. It was tasty and the tortilla was crispy which made for a great meal. They are famous for their half pound to two pound burgers. All in all, worth the trip and the hassle getting around construction to visit.
Restaurant was beautifully decorated inside and the staff were attentive. The food was delicious and the fried chicken sandwich is massive. The only downside is the prices, appetizers cost as much as entrees and the charges for meal upgrades are pretty high too. Would give 5 stars if the prices were a bit more reasonable otherwise I had a great experience.
The company I will for set up a lumberjack birthday party here, it was the PERFECT place! The restaurant is beautiful with the most spectacular fireplace and taxidermy. The lighting was relaxing and really set the mood for any occasion. The are throwing looked pretty cool also. I am DEFINITELY returning with my husband for a date night!!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
Very cool restaurants, decor is classy and country.. Great menu especially the burger options.. Full bar and good service.. I would recommend kodiax to anyone!
We got burgers and they were some of the biggest and best we ever ate. I got the blue cheese bacon burger and it blew my expectations out of the water. We also got the jalapeno poppers and they were definitely high quality. The onion rings tasted great as well. Server did a really thorough job of checking on us and our needs. Would 100% go here again and most likely get another one of those burgers. Highly recommend to anyone.
Beautiful on the inside. I had smoked salmon salad which was delicious. My BF had the Big Ax Pittsburgh sandwich. He said it was ok. The coleslaw had didn't have much taste I tasted it it had too much mayo and was had to eat. The place was busy as 5hey had a live band outside.
Crab cakes were great. Service was good. Music was really loud though. Would like to see ribs n bake potatoes on the menu. Dinner menu was way to limited. Dark inside. A bright n cheery atmosphere is much nicer. Overpriced.
Great food and awesome atmosphere! Outdoor seating looked like a really cool place to dine in but the inside is just as fun. And I can't wait for the axe throwing to open! Definitely a must stop for the area.
We held our class reunion on the patio at Kodiax and everything was fantastic. I had great communication with Tonya, who helped plan our event. The food was very good with many different options for different dietary restrictions and the service was excellent. We had a fairly large group, close to 50 and Kodiax was very accommodating. I would highly recommend booking Kodiax for any event.
