One of the best Thai restaurants around. Food was tasty and service was attentive. One star is deducted for the shrimp which was mushy in all dish we ordered; probably due to frozen once. All in all, will come back whenever I'm around.Food: 5/5
Service is good, but the food was disappointing. It all tasted like leftovers. I was so excited to try it before the pictures but ended up not being what I expected.Food: 1/5
Never thought I would give a one star review again. Has only happened once. It had been a long day at work & I was in an area I didn't frequent. Was craving thai food so I found this spot. Highly reviewed so I decided to go. Google said they closed at 10pm. I walked in and was seated right away. There was about 15 people in the restaurant who were at least halfway done with their meal or finished. It took a few minutes for them to see me wave them down to order. I walked in @ 9 and ordered by 9:05. 2 entrees: chicken over rice & fried tofu yellow curry and a coke. Chicken over rice comes out about 9:15. Chicken breast was dry. The rice was too dry. By far the worst chicken rice I've had. I have not received my coke yet. My waitress shows up and tells me BTW we have no soda. 20min after I placed my order and after I got my first entree. Tofu yellow curry comes out. The tofu is not fried, it's fresh & the potatoes were not fully cooked. This whole time the staff is running around & preparing to clean up the dining area. It's 9:30. I'm sitting eating and they are sweeping next to me and under my table. I tell the waitress I ordered fried tofu. She says, "oh the chef turned off the wok, do you want to cancel it?" The chef turned off the wok @ 9:05? The staff was cleaning and putting chairs up on the table by 9:30. Will never come back here again. The worst $35 I've spent
Alright, let me spill the beans about Krua Thai Restaurant. The place looks pretty nice with its decorations, gotta give 'em that. So, I went ahead and ordered the pad see ew, but dang, the meat was a real jawbreaker. I struggled to chew through it, and the sweetness was way overboard for my liking. To top it off, the portion size seemed to have shrunk. I remember getting more bang for my buck here before. Plus, the overall quality of the food has taken a hit. It just doesn't pack the same punch it used to. But, hey, it's not all doom and gloom. Despite the tough meat, sugary overload, smaller portions, and declining quality, Krua Thai Restaurant did manage to fill my belly. If you're just looking for a quick fix to satisfy your hunger, it might do the trick.
There Chow Mein Combo with seafood, chicken and shrimp is very good and the portion they give is amazing! I came here today because I wanted my girlfriend to try out their Crab Fried Rice and Thai Tea since my sister told her it's really good here. I been to Krua Thai before but this is my first time here since like 4 years ago. I also ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup for my girlfriend. She loved the Crab Fried Rice but she didn't like the chicken in her noodle soup. She said the chicken was hard instead of soft so she just ate the noodle soup without the chicken. But she liked their Thai Tea. The customer service I received here was excellent and he even asked me if I wanted any additional sauces to go with my order.
Krua Thai Restaurant in North Hollywood serves up mouthwatering dishes that will make your taste buds giggle with delight. Don't forget to save room for the sweet punchline of their mango sticky rice dessert. Get ready for a Thai-tastic comedy of flavors that will leave you wanting an encore!
After a long day at work, a friend invited me to dinner... of course, I had to go! It was Thai food! Ended up taking her to Krua Thai because Eli was cravin' their Pad Gra Pow. Wonton Soup--I had a pretty big lunch on set, so I wasn't feelin' for anything too heavy. Saw the soup on the menu and it called out my name... done! I wasn't sure how it was going to taste--turned out pretty good! Was slightly sweet because of the BBQ pork--normally, I wouldn't like that, but I was good w/ it this time The wontons were great--nicely wrapped and contained pork and shrimp. I'll definitely be ordering again when I'm feelin' soupy Pad See Ew--ma' friend ordered this. Can't ever go wrong w/ Thai stir fried noodles!! Yes, it was good! Pad Gra Pow over Rice--what Eli was after! Got it, ate it, and was satisfied Thai Omelette w/ Ground Pork--we all shared this dish. Glad it wasn't too crispy. We've had better before, but this wasn't bad. The sauce on the side slightly sweet, slightly spicy makes this dish even better! Like homecookin'! We'll continue to come back since it's just one of those places that is reliable in flavor consistency.
I went with a couple friends for a late dinner. The restaurant, despite there only being two or three other customers was noisy and relatively loud, considering it was only three other people. We ordered the shrimp pad thai and the chow mein. The Shrimp Pad Thai was good! Decent sized portions, enough for two people to split and get seconds/thirds. We also ordered the combo chow mein, which was okay, not the best chow mein in the world, the Pad Thai was definitely much better! The chow mein was less flavorful, sort of dry almost in flavor and texture. The staff were kind, especially since we came in around 45 minutes before they closed. I do my best not to go in that close to closing time. This was a, "we need good "full meal" food and a restaurant that's open." We called ahead and they said that the last call for ordering is 30 minutes before the restaurant closes—9:30 PM. Vegetarian options: My friend is vegan and she was able to remove the egg and any other animal products from her dish. She ordered the eggplant.
Have to say that if you are looking for fresh , well priced Thai food. Krua will exceed your expectations. Enjoyed the pad thai noodles, seafood fried rice. Very casual and stays open late. So good went twice.
I hooked up with this joint back in 2005...met a bevy of outstanding staff along the way...MS. BENZ and MS. NUK calls to mind. One thing remained consistent: the quality of the cuisine. As authentic as it can get...me and the boys used to haunt this place around 0300 hrs after raving our brains out at RED fridays back in the day...then off to dtla "xscape" for some afterhours excursions...น้ำตกเนื้อ during Mitsubishi landings is sublime....here's a look nowadays
