The staff was friendly and the process was quick and easy so I am giving 2 stars, but they also seemed careless, unorganized and unprofessional. At drop off they were asking my boyfriend about things that had nothing to do with my cat. At pick up I was first brought the wrong ashes and as I finally got home, I realized they spelled his name wrong on the paw print but correct on his bag of ashes. My cat was like my child and I feel like in an industry like this you should quadruple check things like spelling and practice reading emotions and being professional and empathetic no matter who your customer is. I’ve never heard of someone dying and their family being given the wrong ashes. Pets are family!! They should be treated as such at a funeral home.
I can’t possibly praise the LA Pet Cemetery enough. Understandably, we came across them under the worst of circumstances, but they made a terrible situation as bearable as possible. We were debating on whether we should bury our beloved dog at home or in a cemetery, and I’m so glad we decided to bury him here. The staff here are absolutely wonderful. Stacy, Jose, Willie, Katrina, and all of the other employees we interacted with were absolutely amazing. They were all compassionate, and you can tell that they genuinely care about the animals. Stacy did a wonderful job cleaning up our sweet boy and making him look like he was sleeping peacefully, she was also incredibly compassionate and helpful towards our family. Jose was so patient with us and took us to several parts of the park multiple times to ensure we were happy with our lot selection. He also helped bury our beloved. After he was finished with the burial, he noticed some stray dirt that had fallen onto one of the neighboring graves and immediately started cleaning it up, this tells me that he genuinely cares about and respects the animals that are buried in the park. Willie transported our dog from the vet to the park, he was very kind and communicative with my mom and even comforted her by showing her a picture of a rainbow that appeared above our dog’s grave the week prior. Katrina was very kind and patient with us and took time to thoroughly give us information and answer our questions. The service was beautiful, and they were kind enough to provide us ink paw prints and fur clippings from our dog. The park itself is gorgeous and well-maintained. It has a very serene environment. I have no doubt that my beautiful boy is resting peacefully here.
We did not know you were open on Saturdays and made the mistake of letting Cal Pet do the cremation which I will never do again they take way too long and charge for everything and not very sympathetic, I called Stacy today and apologized we miss our baby girl my wife has only said 3 words to me all week and they weren’t good. We will not use anyone else
Incredible experience. Had to bury our best friend, beloved son and brother Hercules. LA Pet Cemetery made us feel welcome and accommodated our same day burial request. I can’t thank the entire staff from the front office to the groundskeepers enough for making this experience easier for my family. I cannot thank you all enough for your service.
Exceptional caring honest help! The staff & especially the groundskeepers are really wonderful. They are happy to help you with any questions you may have & will take you on a tour at the drop of a hat. The office staff is very empathetic and caring. Especially the lady who preps your precious family pet for burial. Very impressed with my experience here.
PLEASE!!! NEVER GO HERE!! In April, I had my best friend and amazing 170 lb Great Dane Rudie cremated here. I bought a very expensive urn from them. Apparently with his remains in it! Months later, I got a phone call from an employee of Los Angeles Pet Memorial Park & Crematorium saying.. “Rudie’s ashes are ready.” I said “Then who’s remains do I have?!” Then they had to call me back .. Realizing, I’m sure, that they shouldn’t have called me and that I clearly had another dog’s remains. After talking to them again, I went to their business. The manager and an employee opened the urn and there were two different bags, ripped open to make the weight of the urn feel like a bigger dog. There were CLEARLY two different pet’s ashes in there.. As you can see in the pictures and I also have the video. The bags just ripped open and stuffed in!! The bag that they had saying “These are Rudie’s ashes” definitely wasn’t as much as a Great Dane would have! They said that they had recently fired the last manager which they had discovered tons of problems that he had caused. For example, there was one dog that had been in the freezer for a year! The new manager said that they had found a filing cabinet full of bags of ashes, so they started calling people. Also saying “Maybe it’s better not to call anyone else if we find the remains” ??!!! After that, they gave me the remains of the other two pets’ ashes and apparently Rudie’s! Now I have 2 urns and at least 3 dogs’ remains! Absolutely INSANE!!! I can’t believe that this happened and I also can’t imagine how often this must happen. I feel bad for anyone that used this company and whose dogs I have, they could be anyone’s.. This was really hard for me to even put into words how horrible this has been. He was like a kid to me and I’m heart broken.
It was in June 2021 that I brought our Boxer, Harry here. He was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and was given about 6 weeks to live, he was 4 years and 5 months old, and it took the wind of of my sails. We had never lost a Boxer so young, and what a handsome boy he was. When I went over to S.O.P.H.I.E. to view Harry, I was shocked at what I saw, he looked just like he was sleeping in front of the fire at home. It was heart breaking but comforting at the same time. Thank you Stacey, for the wonderful way you presented Harry. I drove up in the Golf Cart and watched as he was placed into the cremation chamber, then returned a few days later to bring him home. He will finally be released and set free, just as the "free spirit he was". Thank you again, Stacey and S.O.P.H.I.E..
Sadly had to use the park/services about a month ago - I’m very happy I came here - the grounds are beautiful, the manager Cathy I believe is her name was kind and neutral while setting up services for me, the woman I don’t know her name who prepares your pet for the pre burial showing did a lovely job, I couldn’t have been happier, my baby looked more perfect than ever. I will definitely find out her name, I will love to tip her when I visit again and thank her. Also, the grounds keepers, all of them were kind during the whole process. Thank you Jose for showing me the land I could choose from, he was very kind as well as the others who helped to bury her. I would recommend this pet cemetery to anyone wanting to bury their pet in the LA area. Thank you all so much to all the staff.
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the compassion, kindness and professionalism from everyone affiliated with L.A. Pet Cemetery in Calabasas. Sadly, I unexpectedly lost my beloved German Shepherd Kobi on 6/8/22. I was inconsolable after finding him deceased in my backyard. A neighbor recommended LAPC and made the call for pick-up and arranged Kobi's cremation. The kindest gentleman, by the name of Willie showed up to pick up my boy. He was so compassionate, allowing me whatever timed I needed before taking Kobi from my backyard. He gently and softly wrapped my child in a blanket and with a neighbors help pulled him out of the flower beds so I could lay with him on the lawn and say good-bye, along with my 3 other Shepherds. It was late on a Wednesday afternoon. Willie assured me they would not cremate Kobi until I gave the ok. After a sleepless night and an early morning VM to the facility, I was called back Thursday morning by Kathy. Kathy could not have been more compassionate and kind. He asked me if I'd like to see Kobi again before cremation. I said, I would. I showered and arrived within hours. I asked Kathy if she'd be so kind as to take several pictures of me saying good-bye to beloved baby boy. She did and those beautiful photos are priceless treasures to me....and I'll never be able to thank her enough for capturing our good-bye. This was not a formal viewing Grooming etc. but I was not charged any additional money to see him again privately. Class act on the part of LAPC. 6 days later, my Logan, a 110 lb. German Shepherd need help to the bridge and of course without any hesitation I called Kathy. Logan was also treated with the utmost care and compassion by Willie and everyone at LAPC. I rescue senior GSD's, so sadly I had 3 Shepherds all at the ripe old age of somewhere between 12-13 years. On July 1, 2022 my precious "lovely dovy", Sammy, took a turn for the worst and I also had to let him go. Suffering from both DM and CCD. I could barely process my extreme loss. My whole pack gone in 27 days. I called Kathy again. Jose came this time and he was as lovely and kind as Willie. Wrapping up my precious Sammy so gently as he carried him away. Shera Falk, the owner is equally extraordinary! Giving me a beautiful wooden urn for my beloved Max who was cremated at another facility any years ago and put in a paint can. You cannot find a more supportive, loving, kind and compassionate group of people. I would recommend them to anyone needing compassionate care for their beloved animals.
