Very tasty appetizers, prima courses, and desserts.
Was blown away that L'angolo chose Havertown for their second location. My wife and I had dinner recently and the same high quality seems to be in place as at the Porter street location we've been going to for years. My Octopus appetizer was incredibly tender, bright, and tasty and the Lamb Shank was rich and delicious. Portions were generous. I'm not a sweet tooth, but we ordered desert as they just do everything so well. We reveled in the Porter Street's crammed and noisy quarters as part of the fun of the place. That L'angolo location seemed to always have guests you didn't mind being a little close to. Not sure how they pull off attracting good clientele. This location has much more room and is quieter, but not quiet. Still very lively and fun. Like Porter, nicely understated, simple decor. Thank you L'angolo for choosing our town! We look forward to many nights there.
Staff, atmosphere, and MOST of the food was perfect. I look forward to returning soon so I can update to 5 star review! The one issue was the special I ordered: pork loin. Mashed potatoes, broccoli, and a generous portion of sliced pork loin. The broccoli was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The texture of the potatoes was perfect, but the seasoning was undetectable. The pork loin and maybe I should blame myself for ordering a special the day BEFORE a major holiday rush when it was still being tweaked? was lacking in seasoning and the cook was off. It wasn't dry or moist but tasted like it had been brought to temperature via poaching or steaming. It lacked the richness of a good roast. Also, I like a bit more moisture on the tiramisu, but I'm not culinary scholar, so I could be comparing it overly-moist tiramisu. That said, the service was super friendly and accessible, the apps were amazing. We had a perfect burrata, some delicious mussels, an amazing Caesar salad. All 12 of us enjoyed our apps and really 10/12 loved their main course. Very good showing for a second restaurant location during a wacky holiday season!
Only two. First of all menu looks great! But since my waiter was so miserable it sort of killed the whole vibe. I have to say the bread was microwaved so the ends were hard. That is a bummer , and my pasta was not cooked. I never send anything back ... ever but this was something I had to do and felt so bad. However, my waiter went from miserable to rude. Anyway, sorry for the bad review if you were looking to enjoy LAngelo
It is great BYOB restuarant for the Havertown area. Tonight I had beet salad and sambuca over pasta. The beet salad came with peanuts instead of pecans or walnuts. That's a big miss. I would have prefer the lamb shank carved over the the pasta but that is a personal preference. This restaurant is still above average for the area and a delightful place to spend a nice night. Service was exceptional.
Had dinner here last week. The servers here much like the south philly location are very eager to please. I think this restaurant shines in its first courses. The grilled Romaine salad is fantastic. The mushroom and favs bean salad is also very good although much smaller than its S.Philly version. I had the pasta in eggplant sauce which was good but fairly bland. My counterpart had the Braciole which was very tender but also on the bland side. Our tiramisu for dessert was very bad. There was an unidentifiable flavor that was inedible. We couldn’t eat it. They didn’t take it off the check because he had already brought it to our table. He offered us some lemoncello which I accepted. It’s a good spot for the neighborhood though.
Disappointed with l’Angolo west. Service extremely slow. Waiting for appetizer and even longer for entree’s. The food was very good. Atmosphere very noisy. Having had many years of consistently great service and food at L’Angolo in Philadelphia. It’s worth the drive from western main line
Adorable place and amazing food. It took a while because there weren't many people working and the place was packed but the food was well worth the wait. Authentic Italian at reasonable prices. Also a BYOB. Its a win!
Simply wondrous! From the attentive, well versed staff to the impeccable presentation of wondrous appetizers and entrees in just the right timeline ... L'angolo provides the space for an evening of delight! The accoutics work well as you can actually have a conversation without effort! BYOB and never feel rushed. Here is the opportunity to thoroughly enjoy the experience of a warm space, friendly staff, and fine dining in a community setting. This hidden gem in downtown Havertown is so worth making a reservation for! Thanks for the difference you make, everyday!
I did not enjoy my meal here. The chicken had gristles and all of my food was drowning in olive oil. I was unable to take a bite that was not completely covered in olive oil. The atmosphere was pleasant.
