Nice older Victorian style place. Stayed in Maria Tejas and my mom stayed in the Rio Grande. Some doors didn’t securely close back doors leading to patio and we have an okay stay except for two ladies who sat right outside our window in the wee hours of the night talking VERY loudly.Rooms: 3/5
Place is haunted. My door would open as my hand neared the knob. Lights would turn off overnight. Could hear running footsteps in room next door. Che's has awesome food. The courtyard is very nice.Rooms: 3/5
My Husband Had a Project in the La Morita Area. I helped him find La Borde House , We talk often about how Beautiful this place is, He was very pleased with the Staff and the service. Especially Tracy Villarreal and MariaVickyGarza, They were very helpful with Directions for restaurants in the area. I like to thank you and your staff for a Pleasure stay for him I know my husband he is a very difficult to pleased and he said he would like to visit your establishment again. Sincerely Odilia Salazar
My husband and I had a wonderful experience and staff was outstanding. She gave us a tour and history also let us pick our room of our choice. Loved the patio for sitting drinking coffee.Rooms: 5/5
The staff was very accommodating for a last minute school tour of the historic building. They gave an incredible and answered questions that the students had regarding the property and "haunting" rumors.Rooms: 5/5
What an amazingly beautiful place to spend during my three days of work in The Valley. I'll be coming to town every month for work and this is where I will stay, for sure. Tracy is a very hospital host and when you stay there, you can easily walk to some incredible restaurants - The Texas Cafe and Casa Adobe. What a treat. Thank you La Borde !!!!!!
December, outside patio, live music, delicious pico de gallo and a sweet little kitty keeping her distance, but lovin' the vibe!
THE place to stay while in Rio Grande City!! Decorated in lavish turn of the century antiques, each room offers its own unique personality and theme. La Borde House is a step back in time with modern comfort and amenities. Ms. Garza was wonderful, helping us with anything we needed. The staff here goes above and beyond to ensure you're stay will be truly unforgettable. On the National Registrar of Historic Places and even said to be haunted!!! This place offers an incredible experience for the whole family. They also do Weddings, Events, Art Showings, Showers, etc. So much history and richness here just like the town.
Beautiful, rich in history. Loved every minute. We absolutely love it here! It's like staying with family rather than a hotel.Rooms: 5/5
I was able to visit La Borde house in August 2012 with a paranormal group and the local Telemundo news station ownership completely embraces the paranormal reports here. It's a beautiful Victorian home turned hotel that is listed on the National Register for Historic Places. As a paranormal researcher, I got a lot of activity and the staff has amazing ghost stories. I recommend this hotel to anybody looking for an amazing place to stay along the Rio Grande Valley.
