It is pretty basic. Nothing super extraordinary or marvelous to say, but it has the basic equipment needed for a workout. The convenience is nice though, and they've been around since at least Bally's time. Some of the equipment is old and lacking, and I think they had a single functioning bar clip in the entire gym last time I went. When I asked the front desk if they had any extras, she said only what was on the floor.... Not the pinnacle of safety.

This is a decent gym. The place is full of lots of different equipment to complete a workout. I don't care if the machine is brand new or 15 years old. If it works and I can perform the exercise then what's the problem? The gym looks pretty clean each time when I go there. My only complaint is that they should do something about air conditioning. During summer time the air is stuffy over there and I sweat like crazy even just by standing. Also it would be nice if LA Fitness could open their doors earlier on the weekends. For example at least at 6am instead of 8am. My overall impression with this particular gym location is ok.

Great equipment,  very well maintained, friendly staff and really amazing choice of classes which you can attend. I have been working out here for more than a year now. The crowd here is a good, I've never had to wait for my turn on the equipments its always available. The fees are reasonable too. Its a great place to workout

Usually not crowded do its good to get in and out. Really does need a makeover to be in line with other LA Fitness clubs since this is a former Ballys. Locker rooms are gross and weights are all over the place with mismatched dumbbells.

The equipment and the locker rooms are horrendous. This LA fitness wouldn't be that bad, but the reason why it is the worst is THE PEOPLE THAT GO THERE. It seems like everyone that there possesses NO GYM ETIQUETTE. The behave as if their mothers never taught them to clean after themselves or they are use to someone cleaning up for them. No one racks their weight, people move machines and don't place them back where they belong. People leave plates and dumbbells everywhere and the worst offence is people don't wipe off the sweat off the machines after use. The staff needs to start enforcing the rules.

Worst LA ever. I've been a member for over 10 years and this gym just keeps going down and down. No new weights, no new machines, no new sauna, probably bacteria infested floors. Has been terrible ever since Marlo Jackson left. Go to broad view LA Fitness great place.

I thought other LA Fitness's were bad.  This is where workout machinery comes to die.  This place is more like a museum than a workout facility.  Have you ever wanted to pick up a 25lb barbell from each decade since the start of the 70s?  If so, this is the place for you.  Various vintage styles of assorted free weights are the rage at this LA Fitness location... and the bonus is you won't find any dumbbells to make a pair in that style. The locker room was something out of a horror movie.  I can't tell if the greenish tiles were simply green or just slimy mold.  There are no paper towels in the men's bathroom at the sinks or anywhere that I noticed.  Make sure you're up on your vaccines b/c if you scrape yourself on one of the rusted out lockers, I would make sure to go get a shot afterwards. To end on a positive note, one redeeming quality is that the gym is in a huge open space and the air circulation is a lot better than the Glenview location.

Instructions are very helping as I’m in my first group fitness class.  But the infrastructure like lockers , gym equipment are very old.  But serves the purpose to burn your calories, may not be for those who are very specific on what equipment they need while comparing with other fitness centers..  Keep it going!!!

I've been going to this LA Fitness for about 2 years now, and the fact that nothing has gotten better says it all. I only keep going because it's close to work, but there's an X-sport across the street. Maybe I'll go there instead....  Machines are not well maintained, the area itself is dirty, and the staff stands around as if there's nothing to do when there always is. Only one of them has a passing interest in keeping the free weights organized, which is nice.  Oh and don't go on "Member Appreciation day." They'll play music too loudly and tell you to just deal with it if you complain.

This LA Fitness location is far from bougie and the equipment isn’t brand new, but it gets the job done.  It has old-school metal plates, a large selection of dumbbells, and 3 squat racks.  You’ll find it has a lot of character and the members are genuine.  If you want brand new equipment with a 30 minute wait for most of the equipment try the petting zoo across the street.  There you'll have plenty of time in-between lifts to update your Instagram.  While reading these reviews keep in mind critics usually emerge only when they have a negative experience.  There are many satisfied members at this LA fitness.
