La Fittness

Been a member of the Mount Prospect location for years now! Used to be that the equipment when needing service or repairs was taken care of in a timely manner. Lately and I mean for the last year or so, equipment goes sometimes one or two months without repairs or replacement!!! As a caring member, I always point out or report any issues with any of the equipment so it can be repaired, but it seems like LA Fitness has no care or due diligence!!! It's terrible to see this happening in a fitness facility that never seems to miss an automatic withdrawal from one's bank account, but when it comes to making sure of having the equipment properly maintained they are SLACKING AND LACKING!!! BE SURE OF PICTURES TO FOLLOW!!!

Update: a year later and everything is still broken. Seems like management has given up on maintaining this place. Broken sauna, broken urinal and at least 7 broken machines that haven't been fixed for weeks. Only cold water comes out from bathroom sinks.

Machines constantly broken. They take forever to fix, literally half of their cable machines for attachments are broken. They also downgraded even more and ripped out all the paper towel dispensers and replaced them with mini flimsy disinfectant wipes that are horrible. Will be canceling very soon

me and my friend have been coming to this gym together for months and today the manager stopped us which btw i have never seen this lady in my life and told us we have to pay $20 to workout here and said that my friend doesn’t have a guest pass when my friend literally showed her that she does. UNPROFESSIONAL!!! catch us at planet fitness now. don’t bring your guests here!! they won’t get past the front door!!

Place is really big, they have a lot of amenities. Only 2 downsides equipment is old definitely needs an upgrade. The sauna really needs to be bigger gets cramped fast.

I love this gym especially that there is an upstairs they are amazing !! The people working are great too I’m more than happy with la fitness.

Sending my Thank you to the Operation Manager @ this facility! Best place for competitive volleyball pick-up games. Met a lot of good friends and staffs are very understanding to letting & giving us volleyball time. Majority of players are B to BB - my membership are only use for volleyball and we do enjoy organized volleying with good ball control!!!

Not a member but was trying to visit as a guest. My grandmother has a membership there for a several years now but didn't ever go. As she is a type 2 diabetic, I wanted to help her begin her fitness journey to lose weight. Simply show her how equipment works and types of movements to do so she can go on her own, as I live 45 minutes away from her. Tried to check in at the front, and this younger guy with glasses had a terrible attitude when i asked how do I sign in as a guest. He rudely asked if I was related to my grandmother. I said yes, this is my grandma. He then goes on to say she doesn't have guest privileges, he didn't even look at her account details. Then he says I have to have a pass, then he says I needed an appointment. All of this said with attitude as if I didn't have a right to be there like everyone else. I have my own membership elsewhere, so we went to my gym instead, without issue I might add. I'll never get a membership at LA if that's how prospective customers are treated because gym rats like myself tend to hold memberships in more than 1 gym. Big L for LA fitness.

This gym is ok. It's pretty dark inside if you like bright gyms. It's not the most clean LA Fitness but it does the job. The sauna has been broken for 3 weeks and that's really disappointing. Front counter people hardly ever say hello but they are nicer than the Arlington Heights location. Lastly, a lot of women use the sauna like it's their home. They lay naked on the bench, put lotion on, dry their towels and clothes inside, and just take up lots of space. It's really annoying when you want to relax and also seems unsanitary. The toilet area always seems dirty. I will say the cleaning people work really hard and I appreciate that. I always see them there but I think they need more cleaning staff to keep up.

Could be a better place if clean properly. Can you imagine the detergent you use to clean is not “ clean”. It had happened several times. Some equipments are dirty and rusting. Really hope management team can pay attention.
