La Piazza Café is a family owned and operated restaurant located in the European Village in Palm Coast, Florida. Walking up to La Piazza Café in European Village in Palm Coast, you begin a journey in to the heart of Italy. With the owners raised on the essence of Italian food and learning the art of it from their grandmothers, prepare yourself for a dining experience. However it's a mix of old world and new world cuisine at La Piazza. The old world comes from the owners and their love of family and traditions. The new comes from Chef John a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and a longtime New York chef. He brings his love for food to the table creating a diverse culinary experience.
They only use the highest quality steaks and seafood. Both the finest fish and steaks are cut, cleaned and trimmed in-house and cooked to order. Owner Diane Colabella-Lass, Larry Lass Sr. and Larry Lass Jr. owned restaurants in New Jersey and longed for a warmer climate. They moved to Flagler county five years ago to open La Piazza Café. They went as far as importing their cousin from Italy to help launch La Piazza. He took a month sabbatical from this restaurant in Rome Italy to help out. Most of the staff has stayed the same since they opened. The owners treat the staff like family and they intern treat the customers like family.
Larry Lass Sr. says one of the unique aspects of La Piazza Café is their willingness to accommodate most requests. If the ingredients are in house you'll get it, says Diane. And talk about fresh. They grow most of their herbs including Basil, Parsley, Rosemary and Oregano during the summer and spring months for the restaurant, as well as making their own sauces to order. Larry Jr. has cultivated a strong following with their wine dinner parties held once a month. They are a pairing of the best wines with La Piazza Café's outstanding menu selection. "We offer unique wines that no one else in the area is able to offer," Larry Jr. adds. La Piazza Café also offers your choice of dining inside or outside under their lit grape-lined trellises. As the sun goes down outside, you'll feel the warmth of the outdoor heaters and enjoy the sounds of the fireplace crackling. If you prefer indoor dining, the perfectly covered tables, with fresh flowers, make for a quiet, romantic setting.
