Has a great learning program for freshmen that struggled with middle school the FLC. the teachers are pretty understanding and fun to be around for the most part. has a wide variety of classes to chose from i have really enjoyed my construction classes and the teacher who teaches the class Mr. Ruff i have made really good friends while attending this high school. the teachers here are almost always willing to work with students at making attending this school a better in every way possible. this school gives more freedoms than other schools usually do which i think is a plus. i am a sophmore and i have really been enjoying my classes.
This place isn't as bad as it's made out to be by these reviews. I'm a sophomore now, and I have had no issues with the school. There are a wide variety of classes to choose from and many more advanced classes than other local areas and the teachers and other staff are very nice. These other one and two-star reviews are probably freshman who entirely failed their first year.
This is my first year in this school and i have enjoyed it...I wish they would be more on kids that do drugs...I like most of the staff...My favorite teacher would be my choir teacher because he gives so many life lessons...The teaching is good...Ya there are drugs, smokers and bullying but no matter where you go there will be stuff like that so I don't think this school is bad but it's ok. Pro: Staff, Some of the kids, Schedule Cons: Smokers, Drugs
The music program is absolutely fabulous. The school itself is overall not too bad. It is very big though. About 1800 students. I'd say for the things they have to go through, most of the teachers do a great job. *currently a Sophomore*
After the four years, I'd say the school itself is quite niceno fencing club but it's niched so that's understandable. You need to stay wise to incompetent staff as there is quite the mixed bag in staff. My other complaint would be that there is too much focus on sports when there should be more focused placed on academics and post-school opportunity. So in shortsince I can't write all I wish: Pro's:beautiful school, rare gems in staff, not bad food Con's:truly incompetent teachersnot all, mind you, inconsistent heating, too much in athletics
As a parent of a sophmore at Laporte High School in Texas I would like to say Thank You to the students at our same name school in Indiana!!!!! The out pouring of love and dedication from our neighbors children so far away in the wake of Hurricane Harvey is absolutely heartwarming, this upcoming generation is kind hearted and educated beyond their years, making our future in this country bright!!
We are soon going to have the 3rd generation of my family. The school has up grade over time. It's a good school that offers advanced classes for the students that need the challenge.
A small school with astronomical ambition. The teacher involvement and general feeling of school pride far exceeds any negative aspect of this establishment. I'm proud to be a Slicer.
There is absolutely no problem with laporte high school...yeah there are drugs...there is everywhere...yeah there is some bad behavior...less than most other schools...ur gonna find problems everywhere...there is no such thing as the perfect school when it takes thousands of teens to make it that way...
