The nurses and Doctors were really great at accommodating my treatments with care and they had such a good spirit with smiles. I loved my care team. They set up a wonderful after care plan that is easy to follow. The medication was easy to get from the pharmacy and is working great Thank you Northwest Hospital.
Will not be coming back here again. I scheduled 2 appointments back to back and took the whole day off of work to get these specifically done. I called the hospital the day before to confirm BOTH appointments and even read the tests back to the lady on the phone and she said yes I have both of those on the schedule for you. When I showed up she said that we could do either test today since it was not on her schedule. After about 45 minutes of stressing and telling them how I called to confirm and repeated the name of the tests back to their scheduler they finally agreed to do both tests. I’m in tears at this point cause the tests I had to do were already stressing me out and I was nervous about then this hospital says they can’t do it. The manager must have listened to the phone call on file or something and realized I was right. With the amount of stress and anxiety that day gave me I will not be going back there again. I gave them a 2 and not a 1 since the nurse after all of this was straightened out was super nice and helpful and helped calm me down. I don’t remember her name tho. Other than that I would’ve given them a 1 since the attitude from some of the ther nurses and receptionists was very agitated.
Had a very positive experience at the Sleep Lab recently. Very clean and modern. My Sleep Technologist was wonderful. She loves what she does. She was pleasant, professional and took terrific care of me. She did a thorough job explaining everything to me, and was patient in answering all of my questions.
Wonderful care from registration to ED to surgery to inpatient stay. The nurses were extremely knowledgeable and kind. Dr Hood and Dr Singh and the ED nurse practitioner were excellent caregivers. The dietary department took my celiac diagnosis very seriously. I felt very well taken care of. So thankful for this hospital while on the way home to Iowa! Thank you!
My wife was under care of Dr Ellis. A SUPERB doctor. But that’s for another review. This is about the hospital itself and its staff. The reception team on the first floor was just incredibly kind and welcoming. There were issues with the procedure we signed up and paid for vs what ended up being needed. A bit of a mess. They clearly made it their effort to be our advocates and make it right and they did. Several patient advocates immediately joined the foray to help us sort. Super cool. Every.single.person we interacted with was kind and caring and pleasant and full of reassurance and smiles. While I was waiting for my wife to recover several of the staff saw me and came over to chat and ask how I was doing. Just so different from the Chicago hospital experience we’ve had. Perhaps the thing that warmed me the most was overheating a conversation of one of the people with disabilities whom they employ so happy they do as they were exceptional at their jobs!: he made employee of the month and was so so proud and was getting praise from the person manning the Peet’s coffee booth very affordable!! Anyways, what we witnessed says that whomever runs this place has care in mind and puts in an effort to make it personable and positive. I truly loved the people in that place and the fact they hired people with disabilities who so often get overlooked. The hospital was modern and clean and easy to navigate. As far as you can love surgery, we enjoyed the experience around it. If anyone from this place is reading this: you’re truly a stand out team.
The nurses n Drs were kind helpful n amazing.. The surgeon tho was very rude! Seem ready to end her shift and was very uninformative n didn't exam me before she ripped my tubes out! Other than that very well treated
I had a Widow maker heart attack. I received great life savings care. The Doctor was prompt courteous and professionally compassionate. The staff was good at their job smiling and put me at ease, it was a very pleasant experience. The rest of my experience was as though I was thier main concern. And I doubt that any one else was treated less. I felt special.
The overnight staff that started taking care of me were absolutely rude. Talked about me very loudly with my door open. Made the statement “ so what’s her story this time”. And didn’t even say what I went there for. I’m 39 weeks pregnant and I was having a very hard time breathing and have been really sick. very unprofessional and rude and really excused the fact my chest was hurting so bad and just focused on everything else. this isn’t the first experience I’ve had and with the same two people as well. That’s why I don’t go into Laporte emergency room anymore unless need be. I wasn’t very pleased with my visit. My Discharge nurse was great though. Very nice and very caring. Actually felt like she liked her job and was there for more than a paycheck. as well as the lady who checked me in. They were wonderful.
I was scheduled for a routine mammogram, the whole process was efficient friendly and effortless. The technician was very gentle and caring and the staff and front desk were very accommodating.
The Northwest Health service providers are great - 5 stars! But Northwest Health has been a detriment to La Porte. They closed our hospital and built a much smaller one with a lot fewer resources for the community. They left patient records in the basement of the old hospital instead of disposing of them in a responsible manner. I was a volunteer at the hospital until an employee with active COVID was allowed to interact with patients and staff. And now when I call my doctor's office in New Carlisle, it's answered by a Northwest employee in Ft. Wayne. I can't even talk to someone in my own doctor's office! It's a very sad turn of affairs for our town.
