It's one of the most beautiful missions in California! Be ready to walk, huge property with hiking trials, live stock, well-kept, clean restrooms, don't forget to pay your parking, there's a $6dls selfpay parking, admission is free. Restrooms: Clean Picnic area: Shaded areas
Parking: need a state parks pass, or pay the parking fee. If you are willing to walk a few hundred feet more, you can park free on the side of the road. I didn't see main church--came too late. Only saw a chapel. They also have goats and cows on the lot. Some gardens and lots of trees throughout. Worth going to if you go to Santa Inez and Solvang down the road!
We had a wonderful day here with the family. You only pay for the parking which was $6. We spent a good hour and a half here. Kids loved it Restrooms: Restrooms at the entrance and at the mission Picnic area: Wonderful picnic area. I would have brought lunch for family if I knew it was here.
It’s been years since I’ve been here. It’s so peaceful and beautiful. The 2 amazing kind ladies from the gift shop made my trip extra special. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. Restrooms: Clean bathrooms Picnic area: Plenty of picnic tables
Did a short 5 mile hike on the property. Nice views from the water tanks up top. Most people walk out about 1.5 miles and loop back, so you can have a nice, not crowded experience along the chaparral lined trails and then head back along the old mission aqueducts through the oaks. Check out the visitor center too. Nice exhibits.
This mission is no longer run by the Catholic church. It is a state park. It is by far one of the least cared for missions we have been to. It is also somewhat remote so be prepared. The history here is incredible though. Through my research, it sounds like it is very haunted as well.
This is a very beautiful Mission. It's the largest mission in California and the only mission that is totally preserved. Restrooms: Very Clean
The largest mission we have visited, many rooms showing different aspects of life as it was. Large area to peruse through, longhorn steer, sheep and too. Definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful property with hiking trails. You get a real sense of how life must of been. Buildings have many rooms to explore with of furnishings and artifacts. Blacksmith shop. Water fountain and livestock. Allow 2 hours more for hiking trails.
Much nicer mission than I thought it would be. We definitely go again.
