Always happy with care from here except for today, Feb. 28, 2022. Was in a week ago for ear infection in immediate care, got prescriptions and advised to return in a week to check progress and was given an appointment. I was reminded by phone and text message of appointment. I arrived on time, was taken into room at 11:00, checked by nurse then left to sit until 11:30 waiting. When I mentioned the wait I was told "well there was 1 ahead of you". Why was I given an appointment if I had to wait. I was there 10 minutes early and no one went in ahead of me.
I can't begin to explain the lack of care gone into anything within this facility I've been disappointed everytime we've gone in since last summer my daughter will not be going here ever again unless some serious changes happen we'll be driving to the ashley clinic in Chanute from now on
DR. Melissa McIntosh is a gem and we are lucky to have her in Independence. Caring and knowledgeable she is. Communicates plainly and is a down to Earth as you and I. Supporting staff also friendly and smiling. Happy I've found my new health care home.
I love Labette health for me personally so I will go there for myself in the future and I PERSONALLY have never had a bad experience with the walk in clinic. However my semi low rating comes because my grandfather nearly died with the medicine some younger, possible fill in doctor or nurse gave him last week, or the week before, the name was “Breezy”. He was given double his normal dosage of blood sugar medicine and he is 80 years old, he woke up every morning with bruised lips, has lost 20+ pounds, & his skin was turning yellow. We made him an appt with his regular doctor, for monday, and cut the dosage in half and he’s feeling a lot better and the bruising is almost gone. He is a diabetic also, I’m really upset about this because he’s elderly and thankfully we have hired helpers to watch him & my grandmother, but i can’t imagine what may have happened if he was on his own. Just something to keep in mind for future elderly patients please.
I told them my daughter had a ear infection they wanted to do a covid and flu test I told them I'm done with covid check the simple things first Long story short she has a ear infection place sucks
I had just moved to Independence from out of state and needed to be seen due to illness. From the time I walked in the door to the time I left the entire staff was friendly, attentive and quick. I was in and out of there in 30 minutes with an antibiotic. Thank you to all who were involved in my care!
Waited in the waiting room for an hour while everyone just walked around doing nothing was the only person in the lobby so they can’t say they were busy because besides me. There was a lady that got here 30 min later and I’m righting this I’m still in the waiting room waiting on a X-ray
My appointments are always canceled at the last minute or never, I have two children and other doctors must always see them because the doctor is never at work ...
I followed her from her previous practice. Nice, caring, and very knowledgeable.
They were very friendly, fast and helpful! So glad they are here!
