Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center offers psychosocial, spiritual, medical, nursing and rehabilitation services. Our nursing staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether you or your loved one are planning to stay for short term rehabilitation to return home or are anticipating an extended stay, we welcome every qualified resident into our care. Our skilled nursing facility is certified by the Medicare and licensed Medicaid programs and accepts private pay residents and other third party payers.

My sister is in this place, and I live in California. Every time I try to call my sister it NEVER goes through and gets answered. They say they are too busy to answer the phone but,.............it NEVER seems to be the right time to call. Today is her birthday and I have tried for one hour to get through, only to be told by the supervising nurse MONICA that they do not have time to answer the phone , and If I don't like it too bad. Why are mean people like Monica working in a place that is suppose to help everyone ?
Dad hasn't been himself for a while,our mom passed away May 30,2020 from liver cancer which she fought for a year. They would have been married 63 years this year. The family knew it was time for long term care. After having good experience over the years with my mother in law who resides at Lackawanna I know that was the right place for our Dad. I am absolutely thrilled that we were able to have him placed in the very safe hands of Lackawanna Health & Rehab Center. I can sleep better knowing he is safe and well taken care of, not far from my home and that there are NO CASES of Covid 19 during the entire time of this pandemic, they are one of the few Nursing facilities in the area that had no Covid patients. Everyone was so kind and helpful during the information gathering period and during sign in. Danielle Atkins from the Business office was so patient. I didn't understand some of what was needed. She knew everything backwards and forwards and she went over all the details again. Joe Liberators from Admission was very helpful. He returned all my calls, was knowledgeable and even took time to bring the sign in paperwork directly to our house when I don't have a ride. We know we can't see our Dad for a while but he is being well cared for and that is priceless. Can't say enough good things about the Rehab Center and the nurses and therapist that are taking care of our Dad. Thank you all
My mom recently spent 2 weeks here recovering from a fall. Even though the pandemic kept me from physically visiting her, I always felt "in the loop" concerning her care, progress and needs. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to help any way they could. Joe, the Marketing Director was the best from planning her stay and beyond helping all along the way. He was there for me to help my mom when I couldn't be there. I would recommend Lackawanna Health and Rehabilitation Center in a heartbeat. Thank you all!
Joe and all of the staff were incredible! They made my mother in law feel right at home. She just couldn't say enough good things. Joe had gone out of his way to help me set up her short stay. If she ever needs to go for respite care again that is where I will take her!
I am absolutely thrilled that my brother, Richard, is in the very safe hands at Lackawanna Health & Rehab Center. After 10 long years in an awful personal care home, he was finally approved for nursing home care. I can finally sleep at night knowing he is safe and well taken care of! The minute we walked in I felt the stress melt away, everyone was so kind and welcoming. He has dementia so I could not really read his feelings that day, but we got him all set up and fixed his room with his familiar pictures, snacks, etc. For the first two weeks, I was there quite a bit, usually at meals as he is now only about 12 minutes from where I live. Then, very unfortunately, Covid-19 hit and I have not seen him since March 12th. However, their fabulous Director of Marketing, Joe Liberatore, set us up with a Zoom call for my other brothers so we could speak with Richard on his Birthday! May I add that due to their early closing, they are one of the few Nursing facilities in the area that had no Covid patients! I can’t wait to see him again, in the meantime I drop off a bag of goodies every week that they deliver to him! I highly recommend Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center to anyone looking for a wonderful place for their loved one. It is immaculate, safe, spacious and lots of activities. The staff is great, they call me to always update me on his care. He doesn’t talk much, but he always says “thank you” to me, so I know he is happy in his new home!
My mother has been a resident for over a year. Through the current Covid-19 health crisis we have been kept updated regularly. We are offered video chats during which she is always smiling. She loves to participate in the many activities and loves the staff. They seem to truly care about her happiness and well being.
My husband was a patient for physical and occupational rehab. Unfortunately I was unable to visit the facility. But everyone has been wonderful very kind professional and helpful. I have my husband home now with life Geisinger and hospice care but if ever needed again definitely would consider. Thank you and God bless everyone at Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center
Everyone was very polite, especially Jennifer, Unit B2. They gave the phone to my Dad so my Mom, myself and brother could hear his voice. The last phone conversation on May 31st, 2020 we will never forget. He spoke much clearer. Joe Liberatore returned the pictures that we sent for his room. We appreciated that so much.
My experience with Lackawanna Health and Rehabilitation Center has been wonderful. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate. The staff go above and beyond to make a positive experience at the facility. I would recommend Lackawanna Health and Rehabilitation Center to families who need short or long term care. The staff is always striving to improve the comfort and care of loved ones.
My brothers stay at Lackawanna Rehab. was short because he got Ill and had to be sent to Geisinger hospital. However just wanted to say Mr. Joe Liberatore really helped with the admissions process. The rest of the nurses and CNA's were very helpful and polite when I called to see how Patrick was doing.
