Lagrange Branch Library

We enjoy visiting and exploring this cozy and cute library. The fireplace is a nice place to get comfy and read a book, especially in the winter months. This library seems to really respect the neighborhood and culture of the Polish Village and has some historical things as well as books. The staff are not only friendly, but personable and engaging to all they encounter. They are helpful and willing to assist all who enter as best as they can. The library stays fairly clean, with the exception of some debris and trash when it’s really busy and there’s a lot of kids, which is difficult for most to keep up with. The carpets could use some cleaning to get rid of some stains. The children’s area is pretty small, but they have a variety of manipulatives and activities that are engaging to younger kids. The children’s book selection is well stocked and the baby and toddler board books selection has slowly been growing. There are teen book areas but not a specified teen area to hang out that would be really beneficial, although most of the teens seem content on the computers and in the lounging areas. We wished there were more events here for kids, families and adults but understand there hasn’t been much engagement in past years and that makes it hard to maintain. We are hoping more neighbors come explore and enjoy this library, and maybe more events will come with time.

Librarians are SPECTACULAR at this branch. They are personable, tech savvy and kid friendly.

Not only is this library clean, efficiant and friendly but to the word donate is somethibg they take great pride in... The family members of this library take the eniciative to donate a huge portion of their Love in the lunches they give out daily weekends not included. They go through extreme weathers such as rain and heat just to make sure that the neighborhood receaves their lunches... If your ever in the neighborhood then please stop by at 10-10:30am to receave your free lunches and thank you for answering our prayers...

I miss this library even though I no longer stay on this side of town. Librarians are just a pleasure to be around. They are always willing to help. I love that they have a fax machine that you do not have to pay to use.

This is a great resource to have in our neighborhood. It's quiet and friendly. I have got lots of help from the librarians there. This is truly an under utilized study/ work space.

Always love it there but since the covid-19 hit they been on point. The guard is on point and all safety precautions are executed well. Also love the staff

I was there today and having problems getting some documents uploaded and getting into my worksite.. the ladies there did not quit until it was figured out..They are very good there. Thanks for your help

Went in to use computer and was able to use one right away. It was clean and librarian was helpful with any questions.
