I found flavortown at Laguna Bakery and Fililino Food. I got curry chicken w/ pancit and vegetables while my bf got chicken adobo with rice. We also ordered 20 pieces of lumpia, 4 BBQ chicken skewers not pictured, and 1 can of diet coke. All together it came to $40. We have plenty of food for leftovers and everything tasted delicious aside from the pancit which tasted like pure salt. Great food, great value and lovely staff who helped us make selections. In terms of atmosphere, I just wish they had tables for customers to sit at as it got a little messt at our car. We will return!
Food was decently priced, so it gets two stars. However, the lady on the counter acted like we were interrupting her chica and chismis with another employee. She acts disinterested and rude. We tried asking her some questions and she would act like she did not hear me when I was just right in front of her. She kept walking away and talking to the other employee. They also seem to discriminate and be nicer if a person can speak tagalog or not. Wording and format of menu is also quite confussing. If you are looking for good filipino food and service, just go to Ihaw-Ihaw, Felynn, or MayMar.
If I could give zero I would. Story time. The woman who rung me up was very nasty. At first she said my total was 12.87, or maybe 13.87. I admire I might have heard her wrong. My card declined twice because apparently I needed to accept a payment in my cash app I order for the money to be there. Took me two times to figure that out lol. But once I got home, I saw that so they charged me for a 10 piece veggie lumpia and small veggie pancit and I banana pancit. I realized when I got home and checked the receipt, I saw that it swiped for 13.87, so I called to let them know that I think they overcharged me. She said they only do a minimum of 10 for veggie lumpia, so that was a miscommunication bc they never would have filled my order had they heard me say 10. I accepted that , but also the lumpia wasn’t good in my opinion so I let her know that at the end. To me it tasted like the kind u buy in bulk from the grocery store rather than hand rolled, but that’s my opinion. I asked her if there was anything we could do about the situation I was thinking maybe a credit, at the most. But I was prepared for her to not be able to accommodate that. It seems like a small business and I know how refunds and stuff can be a headache for smaller businesses so I was prepared for a no lol. She snapped!! Literally started yelling at me about “that’s why your card was insufficient. Twice. And u should just say u don’t like the food instead of trying to get free food!” I told her it was both. The money I thought I was overcharged and the food. And as she continued to yell, I hung up and told I would just leave a review. Do y’all know she called me BACK?!! Yelling that I could leave a review if I wanted and that she would tell “the public” about me. I went back to the store with my uneaten food except a half an lumpia lol to maybe get an entire refund and footage of her behavior. She declined my refund request, continued accusing me of trying to get free food, and continued trying to embarrass me by saying, “that’s why your card got declined. Twice.” Lol She and another lady behind the counter asked me to leave and I did but not before I dropped my bag of fresh food on the floor nothing spilled out. Everything was in a container. I’m not eating anyone’s food who has that type of energy towards me. It’s not about the money. Her customer service, disrespect, stereotyping and attempts to embarrass me were completely unprofessional, rude, and simply unkind. I didn’t have an attitude when I called back even about the food. It wasn’t until she started going on and on about my card and me trying to basically scam her to get free food that I got upset and offended.
Best food I've had in years. Pork belly was just how my grandma used to make crispy as hell and tender at the same time. The flan was the best I've ever had, and the empanadas are small morsels of pure heaven. 10/10 would recommend. Just make sure you get there early for the good stuff
As a Filipino, I’m disappointed to see such behavior from the people who run this business. I have hardly ever met another Filipino with terrible behavior and allowing that to exist within your own business is just plain insanity. It’s baffles me that it still exists. Food is bland. Pancit is dry. Lumpia is skimpy. Why oh why do you still have out moldy desserts on the table?? If you’re not willing to keep up with the presentation of your business I have to question how you manage things in the kitchen. This business needs to do better!! I’ve never seen a small business carry themselves in this manner. Small businesses take pride in their product and service and this place certainly doesn’t!
I was greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. The staff is super friendly especially the young lady at the front. It's take out only right now. I ordered a combo with chicken pancit and 3 beef lumpia and 10 vegetable lumpia. The combo was ready within a few minutes, however the vegetable rolls took a little longer. While waiting I decided to order curry chicken with rice. The beef lumpia was absolutely delicious. The pancit was seasoned well, however the chicken is dark meat and was a little dry. I'll just get the pancit with no meat next time. The vegetable lumpia is like spring rolls... they were tasty. The curry chicken was not what I expected...it tasted like chicken and rice with a light flavored gravy with carrots and potatoes. There was a slight vinegary taste.. overall it was okay, I won't order it again. There was a large selection of baked treats that I didn't try this time but will the next I visit. Laguna will be my go to for beef lumpia and veggie pancit. I plan to try more menu items on my next visit.
My wife just left the establishment after she witnessed a verbal assault from the owner toward an elderly customer a US veteran. The man walked into the Laguna Bakery because he received a confirmation text that his order was prepared and ready for pick up. He politely and calmly asked the lady behind the counter if his order was prepared. She proceeded to explain to the gentleman that she didn't know what happened, but his order wasn't available for pick up. Again, with the utmost respect, he asked an additional question about his order. The "owner" exited the back, and proceeded to throw the man's completed order on the table, began shouting at the man, stating "get out" and "do me a favor and don't order from me ever again". The man rushed away, as fast as he could, entered his vehicle, and drove off. This woman is out of control! My wife informed me that this man was probably in his 60's or 70's, and retired military . Mind you, this interaction happened less than 48 hours before Memorial Day. I feel for the man. This is ridiculous and unprofessional behavior from ownership. Business must be good for the owner to blatantly dismiss a customer in such an aggressive manner. They only change their tune if their business suffers monetarily. Take this review for what it is worth to you. One star was the least I could give Laguna Bakery. How dare you treat a retired veteran the way you did. Shameful acts should not be tolerated or financially supported.. 0 out of 5
Tried this place for the first time via Doordash, and I'll have to say this chicken Pancit is the best I have had in years! Absolutely mouthwatering! I also ordered the pork lumping which is smaller than expected but packed full of flavor! I will definitely be ordinary from this place again!!
Loved the Lil shop. Very clean and friendly staff. I will be back. Can't stop coming back. Even in a power outage they are in good spirits. Whoever says they have bad customer service. Should be ashamed of themselves!!!
Called in 2 large trays 1 pancit and the other Lumpia, the order was ready upon arrival, food was delicious as always, customer service was on point!
