I love this place! Easy hikes, free parking, not too far from Denver, and the people that go here are friendly! I loved the creek! After walking through the entire loop, my feet started to hurt so I just went into the creek and it was so refreshing and fun! There are so many small trails here and there and so you feel like you’re in an enchanted forest! This is hard to find near Denver! Overall, it was a nice escape from the city today!
Best park to enjoy the scenery with the pugs! At first it may look busy, even when the parking lot is full, but once you hit the trails, it’s pretty chill. Gorgeous & safe place to enjoy nature! I wish that they had more trash cans by the picnic areas. There’s a trash can by the bathrooms.
Lair O' the Bear is a beautiful nature walk. Easy and accommodating to all ages and skill levels. The shorter paths along the river are great for the kids, longer trails around the loop offer great trail running as well as a nice view for a walk, and there are some popular mountain biking trails as well as fishing spots. The parking lot is small and tends to fill up quickly on the weekends. There are bathrooms on the premises and a few small picnic areas as well. Maps are located at the trail head and trash cans are around the parking lot. Leashed dogs are welcome as long as you pick up after them and dispose of the waste properly. Dog-friendliness: Leashed dogs are allowed but remember to pick up after them.
Great place for a short hike/trip into the mountains. The hike would be easy-easy/moderate depending on your level. Restrooms and tables are available on-site. It does get busy on the weekend by weekdays are typically light. Drive is also fairly easy.
Its a great place for a day outing , Hiking or for a picnic on your way to Evergreen ....with lot of picnic spots with tables and creek flowing on your side...its a busy place during a day,so finding a parking place may be little difficult. I believe there 3 to 4 hiking trails..we took a shorter one/easy level with kids which is kind of a complete loop starting from parking lot and ending there...just make sure you carry a jacket or a layer as sometimes its windy
Great for kids, families, and pets. Walking the shorter loop is about 45 min. The trails were very clean and wide, with the exception of a only few narrow sections. Lots of picnic tables and access points to the creek.
A fun and easy walk through nature. The water is beautiful and we saw some neat birds and a few deer. Perfect place for a lazy Sunday! Dog-friendliness: People were walking their dogs through the trails with their kids. It's a super easy hike!
Absolutely beautiful 2.8 mile hike along Bear Creek Trail lots of beautiful scenery and excellent water access is well worth the time we are definitely going to do this again
Easy hike with great views and zero trash! We hiked the Bear Creek trail and there’s a castle down the trail. Pretty cool place and it’s gorgeous!
Not my cup of tea. The trail follows the road so there's constant traffic noise. The river is nice. Fairly flat and wide trail, good for mountain bikes and walkers, not so much hikers. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Picnic tables are scattered around and one trail does lead to a nice castle. Warning, at dusk the mosquitos came out to fight.
