A place with something for everyone. Street parking is free and usually there Is plenty open. If you want to park in the parking lot fee is 5. Both left and right sides of the lake have about 2 miles of paved path to accommodate bikes, walkers and runners. Once you are off the paved trail you can continue the hike around the lake on the columbine trail. This trail is dirt and I'd say rates a solid 3 out of 5 in difficulty given its distance which in total is just over 9 miles. Restrooms are scattered all throughout the paved portion of the trail and a few once you cross over to the dirt there are plenty of benches to rest. I've kayaked the lake which was nice but I must admit the water is a little gross but was a good work out. You can purchase fishing licenses buy food and drinks at the Cafe. I come here everyday and am thankful to have this place 6 minutes from home
This place is absolutely amazing to hike, bike, walk, meditate, relax, picnic, party, fishing, boating and much more. If you are a adventurer, this is the place to go. Check out the beautiful views and pictures I have shared.
This place is really amazing, have everything you need hiking, ride bikes, lunch area, fishing, rent a boat or just get a good time to relax.
Great place for fishing and hiking. Entrance $5/vehicle. There are bbq spots. Parking may be challenging, then there is a street parking.
One of the most beautiful lakes in East Bay area. It was peaceful to sit around the lake and watch the ducks do their thing. Such cute creatures. There was enough shade and privacy around the periphery of the lake. You may want to bring your chairs or sheets to sit and relax. Thankfully, the walking track around the lake is a proper road and not some dusty hiking trail. They have good arrangements for sanitising your hands and drinking water along the way and steps to go down to the lake. We saw beautiful birds and unique tree trunks. Quite a picturisque place to be and paradise for fishing and boating lovers. The walking path has different elevations which is awesome for brisk walk. Washrooms were clean. We paid $5 for parking and kept the car inside. Felt safer that way. There is enough parking space so no need to worry. If you want to keep outside then reach early in the morning. We didnt find any space at 9.30 am. Overall, a must visit !!
First time here in my adult life. Big parties, small parties, shade, benches, views, hikes, families, friends. A park for almost everyone.
Nobody had any luck fishing the morning I came. Planned to hit up the bait shop at 6:30 but employee somehow locked himself out and delayed everyone in line at least an hour. It was a good while after 8 when we got onto the water. At the end of the day, we asked other fishermen if they had any luck and all said no. Lake was soupy and covered in green algae. No visibility at all.
A nice lake with various recreational options. The loop around lake is 9 miles. There is busting option and you rent boats too. You can get own equipment with $5 inspection fee. There is a cafe which serves various options at reasonable prices.
Lovely lake and nice hike. Only complaint is that it's quite busy during the shelter in place order and mask wearing is pretty mixed. Go early or late to escape the heat since many parts of the hike don't have any shade.
A nature s gem with beautiful trails clean bathrooms and friendly people. Walking meditating relaxing and enjoying nature are some of the things I like doing here. Give it a try!!! Parking it's only $5.00
