I LOVE my doctor, Dr.Cotter! But I will tell you that when I make appointments with my doctor and clarify with the receptionist that she scheduled it with the right doctor. Then get an email a week before stating I am seeing another doctor; who I had a bad experience with my miscarriage a year and a half prior and the receptionist sits there and tries to argue with me about saying I have seen him for this pregnancy when I have not. She was on the wrong year BTW And then the receptionist proceeds to tell me it is my fault it was scheduled with the wrong doctor AFTER I TOLD HER both times when making the appointment that I told the receptionist I wanted to see Dr.Cotter and she clarified that she made the appointment with him. I can't help that the receptionist acts like she made the appointment with the right Dr when she did not. Most of the staff is wonderful but watch out when making appointments because they will tell you that you are seeing your doctor then change it.
I had to see Dr. Wychoff because I ossibly needed surgical intervention I feel he dint truly listen to me because for a good 5 minutes or me he continued to try to push Mirena iud on me after I continually told him no it was extremely frustrating he also blamed most problems on my weight really made me feel like I should just ignore all my problems
Dropped my 19-year-old off for an appointment. There was a sign on the door saying masks are required and they don't provide them to patients. Most medical facilities will provide one to a patient if they don't have one, no problem, but why not this place? She went in anyway and the receptionist got rude and said they would provide one THIS time. What?! So they have them, they just won't give them out? Seriously? A mask probably costs ½ a cent each or less! We will definitely find a different OBGYN!
Update 09/2022: 4 years later and This place is still trash! The staff is rude and unprofessional.They have no ultrasound tech on staff. You have to reschedule and wait four plus weeks to get an appointment to sit in the office for 2 hours and be seen by a very uncompassionate doctor for 2 to 5 minutes with no answers or solutions to the problem. Don't waist your time. I was going to this office so I didn't have to drive all the way to Gainesville to see Dr Stewart he is a great Dr. But the midwife and staff in this Lake City office are severely lacking in empathy and compassion! I was in the waiting room one day and over heard the receptionist telling other nurses and staff members something a patient had said on the phone, then laughing at the poor woman's distress. Repeated the incident to several other staff members so they could have a good laugh at the womens expence also. I will NEVER go to this office again. I will drive the extra mileage to See Dr. Stewart in Gainesville. I do not recommend this office.
I don't normally do reviews but for this one I just have to. I been trying to get in for my first ob visit since I was about 5 months along. Took me 3 weeks to get in but I ended up getting covid and because I was two days away from the end of my quarantine they told me I needed to reschedule. Now I finished and got my negative results and I called back to reschedule and the lady who answered started off nice but she then got rude. Can't get me in for another two weeks but even then not after 2 when I get out of work. I explained to her that maybe I just don't need a ob for this baby and it was down hill from there. Definitely not a place I want to deal with, I'll be fine without a Dr. Michigan medical care was so easy and flawless, not sure about these places down here.
With this being my first pregnancy, I went into Marlene’s office not really knowing what to expect. I can honestly say, I’ve never felt more comfortable going to a Dr’s office before in my life! Marlene and the staff at Lake City OBGYN provided such a wonderful and personal experience throughout my entire pregnancy. On delivery day, I did not feel nervous at all. I felt very prepared and confident in my providers. We were so happy with the care of Dr. Stewart during the delivery. We couldn’t have asked to be in better hands! I would absolutely recommend this practice to my closest friends and family.
Will not be returning. Too many issues to write. I rather go to a facility where staff truly care about patients and understand issues and not made to feel worse.
So I don’t usually write reviews but today I got mad. Last week I had an appointment with Lake City OBGYN at 10:50am for today. Been going to them for five years! Confirmed my appointment Tuesday that I will be there at 10:50, I received a text this morning saying I’ll see you at 10:50. I left work and made it at 10:40 to the appointment. Was greeted and asked to fill out paper work. I was filling it out, was called back to the desk around round 11. They told me I was late to my appointment. Which I wasn’t she said they tried to call yesterday to switch my appointment to 10:20 but my voicemail was full. she said she was sorry but they couldn’t see me! Also I might want to erase some messages. I could reschedule or wait around to see if someone canceled today. I have taken time off of work, made sure I was on time to then be told they were not going to see me! Im sorry but I just didn’t think this was fair to me to have missed work, and not be seen because of scheduling issues. They have my email, phone number to call AND text to get ahold of me. I was notified through email and text that my appointment was at 10:50 all week long!!
Very unprofessional. Told wife to get undressed and they would be right back in, they left her in the room naked for close to 2 hours and never returned she ended up leaving because no one ever returned to check on her. Would not recommend.
I love Marlene Summers. She delivered my youngest son, put in and took out my iud and I have referred her to multiple people. I have nothing bad to say about Marlene and I hope she stays in practice for a very long time.
