The cabine are so spacious and COOL - like the AC was on 74 when we got here at 4pm on a July afternoon and we didn't move it We stayed in a Deluxe Cabin that *sleeps 8 I think automatically bc we had dogs and they only have 3 pet-friendly cabins/*Sleeps 8 = 2 twin bunk beds, 1 double/full, and a fold-out couch with 1 bathroom that was about 200 yards to to lake and a pier and nice playground. Lots of trails to explore. The pool looked nice, but we didn't get to swim bc of weather if thunder is heard, everyone has to get out for 15 minutes and there was definitely a storm moving in and there were plenty of trails for people that like that stuff in the heat. There's a long pier past the cabins, camping, and pool and we saw a Kids Trail with info signs and lights but didn't investigate. The pool is open 9-5 pending weather during the summer and has lifeguards. You get a wristband and up to 75 can swim for 1 hour, then if there's people waiting you have to leave/wait an hour. It's free for people staying at the park. Fishing was not good but it was all off of piers and it was HOT so lots of little fish bit the big ones were in cooler, deeper water. Definitely the nicest state park cabins I've stayed in and will try to come back when it's cooler!
My son & I love swimming here every summer. We wished the pool was open every day I'm sure the campers do too. We drive a little over an hour to swim here because the pool is huge, super clean, & the park ranger patroles it from time to time. We also bring his friends & cousins sometimes too. Restrooms: Restrooms & changing areas are kept pretty clean, if any issues, just tell a lifeguard & they'll take care of it. Picnic area: Picnic tables around.
Amazing place to stay. Cabins are super affordable and very nicely done. So much for kids to do and explore. We love it here.
Very nice park. Fairly quiet in the evenings. Lots to do at the park and great fishing on the lake. There was a pioneer days type festival while we were there and the kids were able to hunt for Sasquatch. Lol. Only downside is the number of Full hookup sites 4 and they go fast. I believe most sites are 30 and 50 amp, all with water. Overall a great place to get away that's close to home. Playground: Multiple playground areas. Restrooms: Public restrooms located in just about every area of the park.
Nice scenic state Park. Camped on a Monday until Thursday in September. Very quiet, clean, and sites were spacious. We were on the lake and had the long fishing pier in our backyard
Stayed here many times and it's always fantastic. Fishing, boat launch and docks, disc golf, fireplaces, fire pits and barbecue pits, it's just a great place to relax. The lodges are amazing for the price. You feel like you're in the backwoods with all the comforts.
Nice park. Very clean and well maintained. The laundry area was appreciated. Clean machines and cost $1.75 per machine. Can pay using app. if you don't have quarters handy. The only downside is several sites are VERY sloped. The gal in the office was very kind and accommodated our request to move to a different, more even site.
Warning: cost of entry is $3 per person. While I'd like it to be even more accessible at $3 a vehicle, this park had just about everything you could hope for. Play grounds, cabins, docks, water accessible, walking trails, and more. While I'd advise visiting Lincoln Park for a better experience, the state does itself justice with what it has.
Favorite State Park in Louisiana so far. Beautiful scenery and such a nice change without even leaving the state. The cabins are beautifully kept. Campgrounds are quaint. And hiking trails were amazing. Fishing off dock wasn't very successful but saw boaters catching. There were a lot of poisonous vines, though.. Great weekend vacation overall.
Gorgeous lake and park with lots to do. You can take it easy or be active fishing, playing disc golf, hiking etc.
