Very beautiful park. We stayed in a "camper site" even though we are tent campers, because we wanted the electrical hookup and to be close to the water edge. We would have liked if we could get in the water right from our campsite, but with the boat docks right there and the rock edge and weeds about, it's probably not a great idea - nonetheless, they have a nice little beach area perfect for the kids. The visitor center is awesome, with lots of aquariums, great views, and a bee hive station - plus plenty of video and reading education. We hiked, we biked, we played on the playground - everything was good here. Only downside is number of bathrooms is a bit sparse, so you will have to walk from your site or from the playground/etc - yep, no bathroom near a playground, kind of poor design if you have kids, you know! Bathrooms we found though were very clean and well taken care of. Hot showers, private bath with shower in it. All in all, this was a great park and if we revisit, we'll stay at the camper sites again but probably with a less obstructed view - that boat dock really ruined the sunsets/etc. The staff was VERY awesome in the park everyone we met. Plenty of parking. Plenty or acreage. Great stay. Only complaint really was the obnoxious people with dogs who camped here and tied their dog to a tree and weren't paying attention to it at all. I suppose the park employees could check on that activity more often. That, and people with dogs on NO LEASH! Playground: Nice and large playground. Everything in working order except the rings that you swing from one ring to the next was missing all the rings. Also, I am not sure how often they clean this, but there was definitely poop on a slide, like, human poop. I honestly am at fault as much for not letting someone know, we forgot to mention it to the park folks. Restrooms: Need more restroom buildings, esp near the camps and near the playground. Overall, the bathrooms we did use were very clean and well maintained
I have been going here for years and I love it. Great fishing and swimming. It also has some affordable boat rentals with some very nice people running that shop. All of the marina stuff is pretty incredible and an awesome new addition. My parents also got married here in the 80s so I might have a soft spot for the location.
Absolutely breathtaking. We were lucky enough to get a spot here. We were so in awe that we extended our stay a 2nd night. The nature center is beautiful. The staff is kind and extremely helpful. This state park has so much to offer. It is extremely well maintained. They offer a loaner fishing pole program as well. We live 1000 miles away and are already talking about coming back. The sunset was gorgeous.
Absolutely Marvelous lake front area, the pier allows for access for fishing and the views are breathtaking, combined with an assortment of different activities that may be accomplished if you desire! Absolutely ideal place for families and friends to enjoy the water front and camping with a cozy atmosphere in a secure area that's quiet and friendly, with shopping close by and restaurants with your every desire Playground: Absolutely a playground paradise Restrooms: Conveniently located for your comfort Dog-friendliness: Dogs run freely, while enjoying the outdoors Picnic area: Excellent place for enjoying yourself and admiring nature
One of our favorite places to stop and camp if you’re traveling i40. Great access, huge rv camp sites, lake access, bathhouse, boat rentals, lots of activities and cheap! We have stayed 3 different times on our travels.
Great park! Has playground, swimming area plenty of room for camping. Lake Dardanelle is so much fun. The visitor center is beautiful and has some really cool things inside to check out and learn. Has plenty of piers to fish off. Bathrooms stay taken care of and clean. The staff at the park is always friendly. Has a small ramp for boats to launch at the rear as well as the main ramp at the park. Has lots of picnic tables around the park to enjoy lunch and watch sunsets! Playground: Small playground next to swimming area kids seem to really love it. Restrooms: Clean always stocked and only closed during winter months but main one in the visitor center is always open. Dog-friendliness: Lots of people jog with their dogs here. Plenty of room for them to run and play. Picnic area: Picnic tables all over and ever charcoal grills to use.
The staff that work there are wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. My biggest problem was that my site was full of ticks and dried dog poo was just behind the fire ring. Campsite 75 didn't have the problem, but when I moved to campsite 79, we started having to deal with ticks. Love the view of the lake from there and it's a quiet cove on the Dardanelle side. Restrooms: The restrooms were cleaned daily and fully stocked with toilet paper. The hand dryer was low powered and the paper towel dispenser was empty. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed, but not in the buildings if they are not a service animal. Rules state they should be on a leash at all times.
We were there 4 nights. The campground is always clean as well as the bathhouse/showers. One of our favorite places to camp.
Wonderful beautiful nice scenery is breathe taking didn't want to leave fishing was ok caught small bream and wind was cool and park was clean they have area just for swimming it had mountains way over straight on front of me. Very beautiful park! While I was there, I spoke to a local fisherman, and while we were talking, he caught a couple of very nice catfish.
