Great place, bathrooms were cleaned that morning…not busy on day we picked. Wind has been rough this year but I will return and try again. The buzzards defiled my friends truck hence 4 stars…$5 per adult fee, they take checksVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entry$1–5
Nice lake to fish and take the family to, but the people that's hired to take care of the lake they don't allow you to enjoy yourself. They constantly ride around on their golf cart and bug you non-stop, and it's very frustrating when you're trying to relax and fish in peace. The lake closes @ 8pm, but they want you out by 7:45 pm and when it gets close to that time the person on the golf cart will keep driving up to you to let you know it's almost that time...it's ridiculous!
I've come to this place off and on over the years. Great place to take the boat out, until they changed management. The new staff stares at you, making you feel extremely uncomfortable. As a female I want to enjoy the activity and the park without feeling like I'm being watched.
Great day on the lake, caught my personal best
Giving 5 stars only because it looked like a great place for a picnic and dock fishing or boat launch once they finish the construction. The trailhead is not open so you have to go to Oak Thicket Park a couple of miles away to pick up the trail. But the trail was not that great to me...very wide for a vehicle or 2 though not allowed, that is just how wide and cleared it is and not very nature-y. It is close to the road and very groomed. Not my thing. At Oak Thicket, there is a poorly maintained Rice Osborne bird trail that is awesome with no signage and seems to end at a pond...without signage and maintenance, we were not sure if that was the end but we found no continuation. But I loved that trail...very much ungroomed nature.
Very nice, clean and quiet place. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is the lack of rv camping sites. But that is my priority. Highly recommend.
Not a bad park to enjoy an afternoon of picnic n fishing, mostly fishing. I'd watch the wind forecast also, it was super windy, my first time there. Amenities on site include camping and clean restroom. Beware there is a game warden on site, so have your fishing licence on hand. They stopped me.
Great experience staying in efficiency cabins. Brand new fire pits, tables and grills for each cabin. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Nice out here! It’s Sunday, about 9am, breezyRestrooms are closed due to COVID, there’s port-o-potties!
Gorgeous park to accidentally come across. Will definitely come back to fish with my husband :
