The Lake Gaston Lions Den is available for your special events or meetings. We have seating for up to 250, a kitchen, conference room, audio visual and it's handicap accessible.
The Lake Gaston Lions Club is guided by the same motto that guides Lions around the world: "We Serve". We Serve is a sacred pledge by Lions Clubs throughout the world as they endeavor to assist the visually impaired. Our mission is to serve our local community by meeting a variety of humanitarian needs.
Club History
Thirty members of the Lake Gaston Lions Club held their first meeting on November 24, 1982. On October 29, 2010 the club, that had been meeting in a fire station in Virginia, moved to its newly acquired Lions Den at 139 Stanley Road in Henrico, NC.
The Lions Den is also available for rent to the public. It can be used for meetings, conferences, and celebrations; and has seating for up to 250. There is a kitchen, a conference room, audio visual equipment and the building is handicap accessible. The gated outdoor facilities, which include electricity, water, and propane gas connections, are also available for rent. They are suitable for large and small gatherings.
Lake Gaston Lions Club holds several annual fund raising events, including the Seafood Festival and a Fish Fry. These and other fund raising activities benefit people in the community in which we live and serve. While the club is focused on and best known for its sight conservation and assistance to the blind, we also provide help to the hearing impaired; local drug addiction programs; county social and health services; and other non-profit organizations. The Lake Gaston Lions Club also supports local volunteer rescue squads and fire departments.
The Lake Gaston Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service club organization. With more than 1.35 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs, it is active in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.
