This is a wonderful community full of friendly guests. The facilities are clean and there are events at the Club House fairly regularly. My family and I also appreciate the safety of the resort.
In a word, wonderful!! Deb, Omie, the wildlife - so relaxing. We'll be back.Service: 5/5
I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for my RV's maiden voyage. Full hooks ups, lots of shade by beautiful old oak trees, and very spacious lots that are easy to pull into. Deb and Oma are the best! They were very accommodating, friendly and made sure we had everything we needed set up for a great trip. They let my daughter feed the farm animals and there's a great pool area for swimming. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their park as it is well maintained and truly beautiful piece of land.
This place should be called a home in the forest! So cozy yet very private feeling. A lot of the rvs on the sites are seasonal so they were unoccupied which I enjoyed. The sites are a really nice size. We had a 28 foot motor home and a suburban and still so much room. The family that owns it is super welcoming and accommodating. I had my 4 and 6 year old with me and felt very safe letting them walk around together. Omie is the camp ground grandma. The sweetest lady! Every morning she dropped off a bag of carrots for my kids to go feed the horses. They really enjoyed her. She also write little books about the farm animals and she signed a few of them and gifted them to my girls. It was all so sweet and we really enjoyed our stay. I think we will definitely be back next summer.
The owners of this place are amazing. They keep up with their guests and they are very informative. We will definitely visit them again.
Beautiful location. Very friendly people. Fun activities.
We used the mini cabin during the fourth of July and had a great time. First of, the staff is super nice. Location is nice and quiet. It's perfect for a family get away and camping experience. Cabin needs some maintenance is the reason for 4 stars. I still recommend this place as a nice experience and a good value. Be aware that it is not a 5 star hotel. You need to bring all of your essentials, from soap to toilet paper. I also recommend bringing disposable plates and utensils as the kitchen and sink in the mini cabin is quite small, but who wants to wash dishes on holiday anyway?
We spent Thanksgiving here as they were the last available campground we could book. We were a little worried when we booked the spot because it did not have a lot of information it seemed like an overflow spot. It actually turned out to be a very spacious field which gave us plenty of space to set up. We really enjoyed the beauty of the place. Our niece was especially fond of the ponies. The only challenge is that the roads are narrow and it is challenging to find the road to turn on if your GPS is slow to tell you to turn soon
Was looking for a quiet relaxing short getaway. Found it at Lake in the Forest RV resort. Since the majority of the resort is occupied by snowbirds we had the whole place to ourselves.
First of all, I must disclose that I am hesitant to write this review because I want to make certain we'll be able to reserve a cabin in the future! This is our first stay at Lake in the Forest, but it will definitely not be our last. I made a last-minute reservation for just a few nights and the staff couldn't be friendlier. They even texted me the checkout procedures in advance! Our cabin is super cute: the kids loved the upstairs sleeping loft so much that we didn't even unfold the couch. The kitchen has enough pots, pans, and dishes for my husband who loves to cook, but we discovered that on Saturday mornings, a hot breakfast is prepared for you in the rec hall for only $2! I had a pecan waffle, sausage, and orange juice, and the kids had pancakes the size of dinner plates. Also, we were able to bring our dog for a very nominal fee. We stayed in the wheelchair accessible cabin, and the ramp came in very handy because my geriatric canine had a hard time climbing the steps. Canoes can be rented for $5 an hour, and firewood is available for sale, too. Our neighbors were so friendly that my son even made a new friend. I was a little worried because I noticed that there were a lot of snowbird-friendly references on their website and I know some snowbirds are annoyed by kids but everyone was very nice, especially to my kids. My only regret is that we didn't plan to stay longer.
