WE LOVED THIS PARK!! We took our mountain bikes on the trails. We took our kayaks out on the water. We had breakfast by the museum and met such wonderful people. The park was clean. The only downside was that the Blackberry Island trail wasn't groomed, and we weren't able to ride the trail. They even came around with tootsie rolls for the dad's for a Father's Day treat.
Great place to unwind or take the kids for some fresh air or a picnic. Plenty of seating and tables. Beach area is pretty good sized and not too far of a walk from parking lot. Great photo opportunities with tons of open space. Fishing looks great with license and boat ramps also.
We hiked the easy Lakeview Trail to the Blackberry Island bridge. I suggest you download the ODNR's Ohio Trails - DETOUR app. The small beach area was very clean. Restrooms: Very clean restroom near the park office. Running water. Picnic area: Lots of picnic tables overlooking the beach and lake.
Fish. Swim. Camp. Hike. View wildlife. Boat. Explore! Pick your adventure and enjoy a great State park in the heartland of Ohio. Need something more, enjoy the local warmth of Fort Loramie, Minster, and other close small towns! ...and wonderful farm country!
Always a great place to go to relax or spend time with family & friends. Multitude of little and big areas around the lake to get together to fish or have parties. Venues available to rent. Close to some local restaurants. Quite a few boat docking locations. Restrooms are usually closed until its officially Spring. Playground: Plenty of areas with playgrounds near by fishing spots and picnic areas. Restrooms: Usually very decent conditions. Dog-friendliness: Can take your dog anywhere Picnic area: Plenty of single picnic tables and group areas around.
This was our first time here and it was fantastic. The camp hosts put on a breakfast Saturday morning which was very good. The restaurant across the street was awesome for dinner and breakfast. I think it was called morrys landing.
First off, my review is based on hiking experiences, so if you like very crowded camping conditions and water activities this review may not be relevant to you. The lake itself is very nice and has some unique features that make it worth just driving around it. However, good luck finding any of the trails, seriously. Also, it's very crowded with campers. Very, very crowded. Not really my cup of tea, but I am sure some people really enjoy it.
We absolutely LOVED this campground! Shower houses were immaculate, everyone we met was super nice. Lots of activities for the children and adults to do. The Nature Center was wonderful. The beach area very clean, sand raked out every day. Lots of critters. We will definitely be back with our kayaks to explore the beautiful lake. Playground: Children loved all playgrounds Restrooms: Immaculate Picnic area: Lots of areas and very nice
Lake Loramie is always great. Especially w/ the snow falling. Nature itself along w/ the surrounding lake are really beautiful w/ the soft white covering. Not a lot of snow but just enough. There's not a lot of activity, however, there are a few men out here fishing. It was actually too cold for me to get out of the car. But I did manage to get some good photos Playground: There is a playground for the children but I did not get photos of this. There is a jungle gym, a slide, swing set and of course, sand for building sand castles. Restrooms: There are public restrooms in the beach area of the lake. Dog-friendliness: Yes dogs are welcome and there is a fenced in area for them. Picnic area: W/ this being a lake, there are picnic areas all over full of picnic tables and grills. Some are shaded and some are in the light for the ones that love to tan.
Very nice and relaxing. We stayed in one of the cabins and it had air conditioning and the bathroom was nice sized.
