Great place to take the family on a well maintained boardwalk. Our family enjoyed seeing turtles, birds and abundant wildlife. There are several areas to stop and look at the beautiful lake. There are abundant fishing locations along the boardwalk so bring your poles.
Trail run? Fishing? Nature view? A breathe of fresh air? They all have it here! I am really amazed as to how they made the running route. The route is made of wood which is to protect humans for wild animals. creaking and old but I did not encounter a broken one, but still watch out! you may see a lot of warning signs about alligators inside In the middle there is what they call the eye or window of the lake where in you could view the whole lake! Furthermore, fishing in the area is allowed but make sure you have the license for it. There are also some playground for kids to play in the middle of the park. The comfort room is decent and clean. And they have a map! So we won't get lost! 5 stars for this and this is by far the best i've seen in altamonte.
Sooo beautiful, peaceful, the boardwalk trail is awesome, people fishing, I saw mushrooms growing. It’s like a majestic garden, to me, it’s breathtaking, I’ll definitely go again and again I love nature
Lake Lotus Park is one of the best in the area. It includes walking trails and an stroller/wheelchair accessible boardwalk paths, a fishing dock, wildlife info, informative panels about the plants, lots of benches, a playground, and CLEAN BATHROOMS! The map is accurate and easy to follow. Overflow parking is across the street from the entrance and easy to navigate. A shuttle service runs every 25 minutes from the overflow parking to the park, visitors may also safely use the walking path from the overflow parking. Park Rangers are helpful and use golf carts to make regular rounds throughout the walking paths. Enjoy!
I live down the street, it is a beautiful park! Unfortunately, it has been closed since hurricane Ian. The hours on Google are currently incorrect, if you call the office the phone just rings and rings.I haven't been able to find any info on it reopening fingers crossed soon, so peaceful. just wanted to give a heads up for those that drive far to get here.Yesterday Thursday Dec. 1st 2022 it was still closed. Update,Today 12/3/22 it's open but boardwalks and trails are closed
Peaceful place with plenty of sitting areas, shaded benches, gazebos and designated fishing plus enjoyable boardwalk/ trails. For years it had been impossible to visit due to being closed every time we were in the area. Today was our lucky day. Open from Thursday to Sunday. Swings for kids and grills are also plentiful. Will be back on a Thursday definitely- for some relaxation for me and fishing for my hubby. A piece of heaven in Altamonte.
This little park is just the bees knees. Since moving to the area a few years ago, I’ve been lucky to live just 2 minutes away from this hidden gem. There’s a lot of foot area for exploring on their trails most of which are on risen wooden boardwalks, plus the playground and of course the lake towards the back of the park where there’s always someone fishing. There’s a butterfly garden near the parking/playground areas where I’ve seen massively cool looking caterpillars, incredibly deep colored flowers, and a plethora of butterflies. My one complaint about this park is that it’s closed on weekdays it’s closed Mon-Wed. I used to have another complaint regarding the trolley, but now that the pandemic has affected everything, there is no more trolley yay!. You used to have to park on the other side of the main street to ride a trolley if you wanted to get in the park on weekends. Never made sense to me. If you want to disconnect from the noise of the city, the news, and everything else, but can't go too far from home? Come here. If you easily find the magic in nature, this place is quite the adventure compared to most other parks in the area. You will be absolutely delighted.
Nice park to walk around the lake and see Florida's nature. Nice boardwalk, shaded areas, trees, creek, lake... it is a nice way to get away from the surrounding cities. A hidden peaceful gem worth a visit :
I like this park! It's a wonderful place for hiking. Peace and quiet. If you like fishing, they have special place for it. If you with kids, it has playground. One time I met there bobcat with kittens. Also you see alligators in the lake. Every time when I visit this park, I find something new as flowers, birds. If you are going here with bicycle, it has special parking inside of park. Don't forget to take repellent for mosquitos. Sometimes you can meet them there too
Highly recommend! Lake Lotus Park is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in Florida nature! The long boardwalk trails take you on an exciting journey with surprises along the way. It gives you the feel of being on a secluded hike without leaving the comforts of civilization, like bathrooms!
