Lake Minden
"The beautiful Lake Minden RV Campground is located in the grassy plains of the Sacramento Valley. Our private 41-acre lake is circled by eucalyptus trees and offers great fishing and boating adventures. The atmosphere of this RV campground in California is relaxing, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there is something for everyone. We are centrally located to several major cities and are a quick getaway as well as a convenient stop-over on the main North-South traveled highways 99 and 70. The area offers many local attractions and things to do. Cal Expo State Fair, Arco Arena home of the Kings basketball team and Sleeptrain Amphitheatre are 20 minutes from the preserve."

Great park, clean, well maintained. The lake is sweet I take my kayak out to watch sunsets often, you can fish or swim too fishing permits sold in the office. Easily navigable for big rigs, biggest spots are on the far side of the lake from the office. You can spread out and open your slides in those sites without encroaching on a neighbor its very nice. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the manager said today that she wants to keep improving the park, which I really appreciated hearing. It is easily one of my favorite Thousand Trails parks in California.
Lake Minden is always one of our stops on our way down south. This year we had a little mishap with our reservations and the assistant manager Rachelle was extremely helpful. She was able to fix the problem and was very nice about it.. we've been to many thousand trails parks some have great staff and others not so great, which really had an impact on your stay sometimes, but when the staff is awesome, the stay usually is too. Thank you for being so accommodating and understanding. We really appreciate the fantastic customer service.
Let me just start by saying we were not planning to say anything negative about this place. There were some hiccups but we went to go camping and that's to be expected. The lake is small and not deep or clean but it was fine. Like I said wouldn't have said anything bad the paddles boats were not working and non existent. On the bright side- The place was cute, the cabin was amazing and very clean and nice, you could tell the common areas of the resort were well kept and we had a great time playing mini golf and looking at the lake. Now, the reason I'm leaving this review- we came home and our dog was INFESTED with fleas. She has never had fleas in her life an I'm pretty positive she got them from the TONS of feral cats that hang around the resort. They were everywhere and some looked sick. Now that we are home and dealing with this mess, I'm sure the place is infested with fleas. Super bummed to have to leave a bad review... not my style and we had a great time while there BUT people with pets beware.
We spent two weeks here. Recommend the D section. Less crowded. Do prepare for mosquitoes! Showers are clean. Not sure why some RVs look like permanent residents with a lot of stuff laying around...there are just a few. Food & drinks: Sammies is on site. Yummy food! Noteworthy details: No sewer in D section. You will need to dump.
This thousand trails park is bad!!!! Feral cats everywhere with feces everywhere.... don't get me started on the fleas and mosquito control is non existent. The park is old ... section A is the only full hookups but if your unit is longer than 30 ft forget hookups... there is long term units which just dump there belongings all over the camp and it makes the camp look like a dumpster. Safety: extremely disappointing
I would definitely give 5 stars if they would upgrade to 50amp summer and only 30amp is horrible when my rig needs 50 amp All the staff here are awesome!! Helpful, kind and understanding, The park Manager Thank you, I'll just say she was a blessing to me personally!! Top notch for them ALL!!! just need to upgrade to 50amp Nearby activities: Fishing is awesome catfish in the evening, piece of hotdog and half a worm is All it takes LoL Safety: I feel very safe while I'm here and being a single lady that says something!! Walkability: Flat easy to walk around Food & drinks: Awesome restaurant on site Sammie's woo hoo love everything I've ordered street tacos yummy Noteworthy details: ALL THE STAFF is Above and beyond the standard for RV parks!!
Man, this place was pretty amazing! Our family 2 adults, 2 children under 6, and 1 shepherd dog chose Thousand Trails Lake Minden as our very first RV mini motorhome outing. We were very impressed with the attentiveness and courtesy of the staff, beautiful location and proximity less than 40 minutes north of Sacramento, and the clean and available amenities bathrooms, showers, play areas. Parking was spacious and hookup electric and water was easy. The kids spent time swimming/wading in the lake no motor vessels, enjoyed some miniature golf, and played a bit of table tennis. We will definitely be making future return visits!
Very near Sacramento. Have to be very lucky and willing to be very close to your neighbor to get full hook ups. Across the lake you can get a nice spot not too too close to your neighbor but it is electric and water only. There is no pool here. I sometimes see people fishing but rarely swimming. Not sure why.Service: 4/5
Campground was good. Lucked out and got a full hookup spot under nice tree. No wifi or satellite reception. Watch out for the misquotes, they are pretty bad there. Sammy's restaurant there on site, food good, shakes very good, prices very high my opinion. Walkability: Lake is nice
Been coming to Lake Minden for quite a few years and still love it. Great staff that really do care about their guests and although the resort is a little dated, it’s still fun. We are full time RVs and when not traveling the country going to RV shows and rallies, this is out go to places.Location: 5/5
