All Lake Oswego students benefit from donations made to the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation. More than 90 percent of all donations go directly to funding additional teachers in all 10 Lake Oswego schools. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade receive additional instruction in foundational subjects such as reading and math, as well as receive more opportunities to explore and pursue interests through electives and advanced placement courses.
As a results, Lake Oswego students are excelling in all content across all grades, measured by growth and achievement scores of state assessments. Additionally, SAT and ACT scores and graduation rates are among the highest of all comparable districts.

Donations to the Lake Oswego Schools Foundation make a direct impact to our community. Over the past 30 years, parents, grandparents, community residents and local businesses have given more than $28 million to the Foundation. Thanks in large part to these contributions, Lake Oswego students are excelling and our schools are ranking top in the state and among the best in the nation.
Donations to the Foundation go solely to hiring and retaining teachers in Lake Oswego Schools. The roughly $1.5 million raised annually supports the equivalent of 20 full time teaching positions in our schools. That's enough teachers to fill an entire elementary school.
The Foundation was created to protect Lake Oswego's legacy of educational excellence, regardless of financial constraints imposed by shrinking state budgets. Lake Oswego residents give more in taxes than our schools receive. Specifically, Lake Oswego receives nearly $1,000 less per student than the average district statewide. Foundation donations make up that deficit and provide additional resources for a world class education.
Lake Oswego Schools Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization. All donations to the Foundation are tax deductible.
