Established in 1905, The Lake Placid Vol. Fire Dept. provides fire protection for the Village of Lake Placid & the Town of North Elba in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York.
The Lake Placid Vol. Fire Dept. is comprised of a combination staff, which includes paid drivers/dispatchers and volunteer firefighting personnel. At any given time there are around 40 active volunteers and 6 paid members. The LPFD is manned 24/7/365 and responds to an average of 250 fire related calls each year.
