Description

Lake Tschida is managed locally by the Tri-Cities Joint Job Development Authority in a non-profit cooperative agreement with the Bureau of Reclamation.

All fees collected at the lake are reinvested in to the lake. The Lake is being managed without the use of tax funds as a self-supporting nonprofit venture.

The dam and reservoir are managed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for downstream flood control and irrigation. Recreation areas around the lake offer fishing, boating, camping, and swimming.

Fees are being collected at some entrances with self-registration kiosks. Envelopes are provided to complete your registration. The appropriate fee should be enclosed and the envelope deposited at the kiosk.

CAMPSITE REQUIRED MINIMUM STAY

MEMORIAL DAY, 4TH OF JULY & LABOR DAY WEEKENDS REQUIRE A "3 DAY" RESERVATION FOR ALL CAMPSITES.

ALL CAMPSITES - If your reservation starts on Friday you must also include Saturday & check out on Sunday as the minimum of 2 nights is required between Memorial Day weekend & Labor Day weekend. If your reservation starts on Saturday you must also include Sunday & check out on Monday as the minimum of 2 nights is required between Memorial Day weekend & Labor Day weekend.

ELECTRICAL HOOK-UPS
Electrical hookup fees apply if you occupy the campsite even if you chose not to use electricity. Extension cords may not be run from one campsite to another without prior approval by the Lake Tschida staff.

DOUBLE UPS
No more than two camper units may occupy any campsite unless otherwise specified. Hawebesi camping area is the exception where there is 3 additional campers allowed at the two (2) campsites each. Each unit must pay the camping fee. A campsite is defined by one fire ring and table.

CAMPSITE OCCUPANCY/GROUP CAMPING
Multiple units (more than two units) may occupy camping areas designated “group camping.” Each unit must pay the camping fee. A campsite is defined by one fire ring and table.

SIZE OF CAMPING UNIT
A camping unit is a powered vehicle, motor home, camping bus, pull-type camper, tent or any other device designed for sleeping.

CAMPING DAY
Any portion of a 24-hour period beginning at 2PM that a camper occupies a campsite. The camper must vacate the campsite on the last camping day by 1PM (both reserved campers and "first come-first served" campers).

CAMPING LIMIT
A fourteen (14) camping day limit in any consecutive 30-day period at on campground.

PETS
Pets must be on a leash at all times whether at a campsite or out for a walk. Pets (except service animals) are not allowed on the public swimming beach, playgrounds, in bathing areas or concession facilities or in any public lake recreation building (including vault toilets and comfort stations). Domestic pets are permitted in designated day-use areas. Pet owners are required to pick up after their pets and properly dispose of all pet droppings in trash receptacles. Pet droppings left in fire rings will result in the camper being assessed additional fees. For everyone's enjoyment, including pets, please observe the pet camping rules. Failure to abide by these rules may result in the camper being asked to check out of the campground. All pets must be confined, leashed, or otherwise under the physical control of a person at all times. Leashes may not exceed six feet in length. Pets must be well behaved at all times. Pets may not be left unattended on the owner's campsite at any time. During quiet hours (After 11PM) all pets must be in your camper, RV or tent. Pets must be provided water at all times. Pets that are noisy, vicious, dangerous, disturbing or intimidating to other persons or pets, or which damage park resources, are considered to be nuisances and will not be permitted to remain in the park. Non-fur bearing pets, such as reptiles, birds or fish, must be confined or under the physical control of the owner. Some animals may be prohibited on park properties. Animals considered to be livestock are prohibited at Lake Tschida.

FIRE SAFETY
Do not build large roaring fires and be sure your campfire is "DEAD OUT “before turning in for the night or departing. Do not dispose of trash in fire ring.

CHECK IN - CHECK OUT TIMES
Check in time is 2PM. Check out time is 1PM. You may remove your unit and place it in a designated public parking area and enjoy the lake the day of your checkout.

VACATING THE CAMPING AREA
All garbage must be disposed of. All pet messes must be cleaned up. Garbage may not be left in fire ring or around the campsite. Fires must be extinguished. Any damage to ground or trees must be reported to office or Lake Staff. Additional fees may apply to sites that are left in an unacceptable condition.

NO LITTERING RULES
Fire rings are not to be used for the dumping of any type of trash. You are required to keep the grounds free of litter. Please dispose of garbage in dumpsters. Do not leave your garbage in fire ring. Chewing gum, cigarette butts, peanut and sunflower seed shells, bottles, cans and wrappers are considered litter. If gum no longer desired or if it has been in your mouth it goes in the garbage not on the ground.

ARCHAEOLOGY
Take pictures, make drawings, look, but do not remove archaeological artifacts, fossils, & other geological specimens: it's against federal & state law.

FIREWORKS
By order of the Bureau of Reclamation fireworks are no longer allowed on any of the federal property at the Heart Butte Reservoir also known as Lake Tschida.

CANCELLATION POLICY
There is a $10 cancellation fee if the reservation is cancelled 6 days or more before the start of the reservation.
There is a 50% cancellation fee or $20 (whichever is greater) if the reservation is cancelled 5 days or less.
There is a $20 fee to change the date or the campsite of the reservation.
There is NO REFUND if you don't show.
There is NO REFUND for inclement weather days.

VIOLATIONS OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Violations may result in trespass of property. Failure to comply with the rules and regulations may result in arrest.
