Nice campground, clean lots are long and very private...mosquitoes not that bad at all. No swimming now blue green algea...bathrooms and shower are clean. Nice hiking trails...very good roads for bikes. Overall good experience at this state park. Playground: Nice new playground.
Awesome state park! Huge sites very private. Amazing trails and fishing piers. Friendly staff and clean facilities. We will definitely return and recommend. Playground: Small but nice and clean. Was hard to find the entrance to the park. Restrooms: Very clean Picnic area: Very large and sheltered
Stopped by for a quick walk on our way to the twin cities. Nice and quiet with the standard amenities. We didn’t stay over night but it’s certainly nice for a day visit.
Beautiful park with great camping facilities. Don't plan on swimming due to the beach covered with geese and blue green algae. Nice hiking trails and kayaking or boating opportunities.
A very nice state park within easy striking distance of the Twin Cities. Spacious, shaded camp sites with clean bathrooms and showers nearby. Interesting hiking and biking trails, a nice overlook to the water, small sandy beach for swimming as well as other openings along the trail to hop in. Fireflies in the summer at least while we were there. Extremely welcoming staff in the Ranger station. Camped in 2021 and 2022 and both times while connected to 30-amp service a vital electrical component in our RV got fried. Not cheap, and not fun. A beautiful state park but we will not be back.
Very nice campground. Lots of space available. Requires a recreation pass on top of camping fees which can get expensive.
Great camping area Lots of trails to bike, walk or horse back. Campsites are well kept. Only flaw is shower facility. I'd be willing to bet prison showers are probably cleaner. They're remodeling soon I think. But I beleif they could keep it cleaner until then.
Great state park located on Lake Wissota. Campground sites are large and well maintained. There’s a nice hiking trail that boarders the lake and provides great views! Lake access is easy by kayak/canoe through the beach or boat launch.
Very disappointed in bathrooms. Said they were cleaned often but same mess was there the entire weekend. Definitely cutting corners probably due to lack of staff. 4 female and 4 male showers for the whole entire campground.. seems a little ridiculous. Plus the bathroom was muddy and wet CONSTANTLY even though there was no rain. Beach leaves something to be desired. No good camp store.
Great park. The nature trail is nice, would recommend. The trail along the lake is great too, but all the smoke June 2023 makes it hard to see the lake. This might be one of the flattest state parks I've come across too, which makes it good ground for beginning hikers. The park is over 1,000 acres and maybe has 30 feet of elevation difference throughout.
