The facility is dirty and not well managed. You can tell they don't put much money into the upkeep of their ice rinks and equipment. The owners son and genersl manager Derek took one of the handicap parking spots away the Closest one to the front door so that he could have a personal parking spot!
I wanted to Thank the Lakeland Ice Arena employees for helping me after I injured myself falling on the ice while skating on January 24th. Their quick actions helped me decide to call a family member who then drove me to the hospital. A Lakeland employee did offer to call an ambulance for me which I declined. I wanted to thank all of you for your quick actions in helping me. I am grateful to all of you. You all should be commended for a job well done
Nice place the kiddos had a blast! They don't let you bring in food and they ran out of pizza and hot dogs. Bathrooms could've been cleaner.
A great place for kids to learn how to figure skate and hockey skate. Very well organized. Excellent coaches, even one who is a former Olympic figure skater. The chicken in the snack area is excellent.
Hockey refs are absolute garbage. Don’t bring your kid here to learn how to back check and work hard, the refs will just throw them in the box. To play an away game here is one thing, but to play here as your home rink… forget it. All the teams here pay big money just for the refs to call 30 unreal penalties a game. Management could care less.
Enrolled my toddler in Learn to skate program this summer. The skating is very fun for the kids, but some of the instructors don't seem very in tune with the children. However there were a few instructors who were incredible with the kids which I was grateful for. It was pretty much luck of the draw each week if you were going to get a great pair up for your kid. The conditions of the facility could definitely use some updating and cleaning. Overall, I will enroll my son again, because he truly enjoyed it.
Public skating on this ice arena is NOT safe. Staff was not there at all or did not supervise the ice rink, allowing some skaters to play around with orange cones while others including kids are trying to practice and skate safely. One of the hockey skaters had a screwdriver and was making holes on the ice surface.Another one was throwing hockey puck all over the rink. THIS IS NOT A SAFE ICE RINK.
The rink could use some updating but the staff is absolutely amazing! My kids have learned so much and really improved their hockey skills since coming to Lakeland. 100% worth the extra drive for us!
Old school ice arena. They way they were and this one still is. Wood benches. This is a throwback arena compared to all of the new municipal arenas around the area. Great staff though. My grandson plays out of here, I have spent some time there.
Currently sitting in the car with my crying daughter—we got her all excited about going ice skating for the first time, only to get to Lakeland and find out they cancelled open skate without notice.
