I am very disappointed in my "hometown branch." I arrived at the bank at 3:48pm to open a savings account with my son. While I realized the bank closed at 4:00, it is very hard for me to leave work early to do these kinds of errands and my son had been wanting to open a savings account for months. When I got there, the woman in the office was working with another customer. She told me it was nearing close to 4 so she may not be able to open the account, but it would depend on how long the current customer took. Apparently the other customer needed to run outside for something and come back in, so her time was going to take a bit longer. The bank woman immediately told us she would not be able to open the account today and that we would need to come back. I and my son were very disappointed. Extremely poor customer service. I arrived before the bank closed. The woman should have been willing to extend an additional 10 minutes to her work day since I had arrived prior to closing time, so we did not have to turn around, drive back home 15 minutes, and return another day. I had everything I needed and it would have taken her about 10 minutes to open a bank account. It was obviously more important to her to leave on-time, than to please a child who was there and excited to open their very first bank account. I've been a customer of this bank for many years, but stuff like this makes me wonder why I stay.
It is nearly impossibly to speak with anyone at this location in a professional manner. I've been dealing with a deceased family member's account and have been met with nothing but frustration for two months. 90 percent of the time my calls have gone straight to the call center who also have terrible customer service skills. Both parties seem to make up new rules whenever they see fit. I cannot wait until I can be done with this bank once and for all.
Worst bank!!!! Looks a lot nicer inside now but the people inside are not nice and are the least helpful people on the planet. Stay fresh from this branch and the one in Andover or better yet stay away from this bank all together use first hope!
I use to have an account at this bank in Newton and I had to go there to cash a check and it was a great reminder of why I switched my banking over to chase. I was not greeted, not one teller was pleasant or smiling and when I asked for some 20s in my cash the women rolled her eyes at me and couldn’t even say have a nice day. I guess when you’re so miserable it’s hard to want your customers to have a nice day. Thank you lankland for confirming my decision to change banks
I've been a bank customer for over 35 years and had many CDs and a safe deposit box there. Not specifically this location, but the one on Park Place. All of a sudden they decide to close all of my accounts with me and my family for no given reason at all. I recommend highly to all of you reading this do not use Lakeland Bank as your primary bank, because talking to many employees that used to work there told me they are going out of business very soon being not a Major Bank like Chase, TD, Wells Fargo, PNC, Santander, etc. They might be around maybe one possibly two years more and are currently laying off a lot of tellers. If you want a future investment with Savings, higher interest rates, and a Christmas Club; shop elsewhere for long-term investments for your family! It'll save you a lot of time scrambling around in the future when you get a notice in the mail saying that the entire Lakeland Bank is closing their doors forever and have to invest your savings elsewhere!
Just left drive through after waiting 30+ minutes to be helped and we were the 1st in line at the 3rd drive thru. Everyone in the other 2 lanes were being helped but the were ignoring the 3rd lane. Even buzzed for help and we were totally ignored 3 times. I called branch and spoke with Tanya ...unbelievably rude and kept talking over me so I couldn't talk at all. Told me to go right ahead and call the manager on Monday she was doing the best she could and their was only 2 of them working . Mo
Lakeland Bank has very poor customer service, you can go to a different branch and get a completely different customer service response. There is no uniformity. They offer their customers a huge disadvantage bc they are also not technologically advance with it's product offerings. This is a small town bank that does not even give you a small town warm friendly feeling within their branches. I would recommend taking your money somewhere else. There is soooo Much more better banking sources out there.
Great bank, better people. Jim and the crew have been backing us for almost 20 years — as a skateboard company in Rural NW New Jersey that is something we never expected and have been continuously surprised by in the best way possible. Stack on top of it that the whole Lakeland staff seriously went to bat for their customers on the Covid-19 PPP / SBA programs and for us in particular and I don't think you can find a better place to do your business banking in Sussex County. Lakeland has on more than one occasion made the difference between handling our growth in stride — and struggling with it. Even with our HQ office now in Portland, OR I intend to keep as much of our business here, with our home bank in Hampton as possible. Thanks guys — we won't forget it.
WARNING DO NOT BANK WITH LAKELAND!!!! They will screw you over at every opportunity and then they will try to screw you over even AFTER you close your account with them. Only bank here if you like having your money in the wrong hands.
I was offered a 250$ promotional deal for opening an account. When I met all the requirements and asked when I get the 250$ they changed the requirements. I then met those requirements and called again. Couple days later they told me they are closing my account and won't give a reason. Pretty shady not a good place to trust with your money
